It would be better if Pavlik had a confidence-builder against a clubfighter at 168 first.

He's faced enough club fighters. Plus, I don't think it'll do anything for his confidence. Bute will be too quick and smart for him.

I cant jump on butes bandwagon just yet ive only seen him once and yaa it was a nice ko but kelly had done that awhile back too sooo... but if they do fight I pick Bute to KO him 7-8 rounds

Seems like HBO is grooming Bute to be their next showcase fighter and offering Kelly Pavlik as a sacrificial lamb. It will be interesting to see if Arum invests more time and money into building him as a super-middleweight/light-heavyweight or goes the easier route of matching him against an elite fighter on HBO. I think it will be the latter because his marketability is very limited. Roberto is probably thinking about cashing out on Kelly at this time.

Bute takes it, but not as easily as u all think. Dont know how he gets so much praise on here, Pavlik would be his toughest opponent to date. And thats saying something.
