as a fan I never understood or could fathom how much body shots change a fight. And just how much they hurt. Body shots wear you down quick and make you really hesitant to throw punches because once you feel a few good ones the last thing you want to do is leave yourself open for more body shots.

Hell of fight though, Froch gained more respect from me in this loss than I've ever had before. Kessler put it all on the line, he wasn't losing that fight no matter what.

By the way, Kessler always neglected the body in former fights, I think this might be a new thing from him with Motoya.

Body work was always something Kessler needed to do more of.

Yeah, I remember when I was a kid, I was trying to balance on top of a fence like an idiot and I fell and landed stomach-first on the fence. It wasn't just incredibly painful, it also messed up my breathing for a few minutes so it was like half-suffocating while at the same time hurting so bad that I couldn't stand.

It's a shame that more fighters don't work the body well, it can really make a difference, especially in a close fight.

How much impact do you think Montoya had on the fight? I liked Richard, but I think he should've been swapped out a long time ago. How do you see it?
Montoya always praised bodywork. Much more than Olsen. Olsen wants speed and power to put it stereotypical. I also think Montoya made Kessler more wild. Still he has only had the controls for 4 months.

Wheter he is better than Olsen I don't know. What I do know is that Kessler won and as long as he does that he makes things work.

Montoya always wanted bodywork. He emphasized that when he had Kessler in camp for the Sartison fight. In that fight Kessler went for the body more than ever. Sartison ended up on hospital after collapsing.

And a lot of people that think Froch won gave him most or all the early rounds, pretty much dismissing that body work Kessler was dishing and favoring Froch's jab.

Props to Kessler and his team. Now it's time for Kessler to handle his business and whoop some serious ass.

He just did mate. He just whooped a guy who was a top 3 SMW arguably no.1.

kessler could hardly walk back to his corner after the 11th. he was so tired or beat, that was funny.

more funny was he still manage to come out for 12th and swing like theres no tmr. props to the viking warlord

                      Great post Nelson, thanks bud.

Great gameplan by Kessler. A bit of a gamble because he looked shaky in the early rounds but it paid dividends later on. Gotta give it to Froch though he fights with a will that few boxers have nowadays.

Good to see kessler realized the importance of footwork too; is this a rejuvinated Kessler? I hope so!
