kessler WAS ****in him up w/ bodyshots...Steve Bunce to ekstrabladet.dk: "I was right under Froch's corner doing commentary for BBC. Around the 8th or 9th round I heard Froch tell his trainer: He kills me with those bodyshots. He fucking kills me with those bodyshots."
Bunce continues to say: "You could hear the desperation in Froch's voice.Comment

I had Froch winning the fight because I was rooting for him, but if I re-watched it I think I could probably come away with giving a 7-5 like decision to Kessler. And even though I think Kessler got preferential treatment by the judges, his performance raised my opinion of him. He showed a lot of heart in that fight. I kind of questioned his mental make up in the lead up to the match because I saw of how his will looked kind of broken when he lost to Calzaghe and Ward. But he fought hard enough to gain my respect last night.Comment

Kessler proved a lot of doubters wrong. He was fighting like a true lionhearted warrior right untill the final bell. And Froch did too, but everybody knew he would.I had Froch winning the fight because I was rooting for him, but if I re-watched it I think I could probably come away with giving a 7-5 like decision to Kessler. I think he'll destroy his face too. I expect AA to KO Froch.
That was my biggest criticism of Kessler. When you watch the fight on TV watch his left hooks, they're all looping, winging, wild hooks with his arm fully extended, not generating much power. He needs to tighten up his hook and turn his punch over to get more power.I was more enjoying Kessler's re-invention of the left hook. He was able to land that shot on quite a few occasions.
Maybe Kessler took to much punishment in the fight, but he won. Meaning he found a way to win and that was to:
1: Go to the body.
2: Force Froch to punch off the back foot
3: Go to war.
There were quite a few clean left hooks he landed that he could have hurt Froch with if he wasn't so wild with it.
Watch Adamek Banks and how it completely changes the fight and allows Adamek to start dominating. He also did alot of nice body work vs Arreola last night.as a fan I never understood or could fathom how much body shots change a fight. And just how much they hurt. Body shots wear you down quick and make you really hesitant to throw punches because once you feel a few good ones the last thing you want to do is leave yourself open for more body shots.
Hell of fight though, Froch gained more respect from me in this loss than I've ever had before. Kessler put it all on the line, he wasn't losing that fight no matter what.

Jirov - Arthur Williams. Any Jirov fight really.

I just watched the fight on TV and I must say that a lot of the bodypunches I saw live doesn't get due justice on TV. Kessler landed that right repeatedly but you simply don't notice it on TV (unless you look for them).

Another thing is the left hooks you mention. Yeah they where wild. Late in the fight that is. Earlier on they where short and sweet.Comment
