LOL...how? I already acknowledge two things

    1. Corrales went on to do great things and Floyd did what he had to do in this fight.

*not in this thread but I have stated this several times*

    2. This was one of the most dominating performaces I have ever seen (Floyds win over corrales) and have always gave Floyd credit for this win.

This is soley based on the "myth" that he was some type of monster before fighting Floyd.

BTW I see you in the red again homie, I can try my best to get you green again, unless your bar is on life support..hahaha

isn't boxing all about hype? check this out.

in 1998 floyd beat genaro hernandez and angel manfredy 2 very good opponents and ended the year ranked #8 p4p.

then in 1999 he fought Carlos Alberto Ramon Rios, justin juuko, and carlos gerena 3 guys not even ranked in the top 10 but he moves up to #2 p4p. why would he move up so high if he's fighting bums? cause the hype machine says so!

Would you have rather had Floyd fight him once he was dead, as Pac tends to to do with his opponents?

Look at the front page. There are 7 Floyd threads there. 2 are from BPP and EVERY SINGLE OTHER ONE is by someone who is hating. But his fans won't stop talking about him right? Ridiculous.

full credit to floyd for that win. Has nothing to do with that, but everything to do with HBO tricking fans with unwarranted hype.

FWIW I would be saying the same thing if Valero vs Pac got made and HBO was hyping Valero up as some type of indestructibly force.

I thought this was a discussion on Corrales and his skills. I didn't know I made a wrong turn and ended up in another ***** thrash Pacquiao thread. You guys just can't stop this immature stuff.

Okay, I'll go along with your thoughts. Pac beat Marco and Marco went on and become a champion again.

I'm not saying that the criteria you are giving is the correct criteria but you are entitled to that belief.

Why should i talk about Pac? The man is the number 1 boxer so yes i would use him as an example, Barrera went on to do things, JMM went on to do great thing but my point still stands in relation to the TS..

Calzaghe beat up Lacy and what happen after that nothing, the same calzaghe beats Hopkins and Hop went on to beat Pavlik...My point? Is it never just judge a fighter by hype or by what they did before they lost..You judge them pre and post a defeat.

That's like someone hyping up Valero as some type of monster when his best win is alfaro. Yes he KO'd a bunch of people, but those guys were bums/c-class opponents. Now if he does great things afterwards, yes he would have earned it, but to label him as such now is premature, just like it was with corrales.

Of course HBO are going to Hype him, HBO like guys who KO fighters, Fighters with power and corrales was a fighter who they thought resemble or reminds them of Tommy hearns, Whether the hype is justified would be find out later on in his career and we did find out or didnt we?

Am sure the Lacy Hype was worst than Corrales though but for some reason Corrales name came up and he achieved more whereas Lacy done(?).

I heard Valero handled Pac in sparring.

I don't care what the hype is, I wouldn't mind seeing that fight.

Corrales was very good and up and coming, but Floyd whupped that ass good.

Doesn't mean Corrales wasn't good, it's just Floyd was on another level at that weight.
