You can't, that's why you resort to flaming.
see, case in point there. "Just one name" i.e. boxrec warrior here thinks that the only importance in judging fighter's is by googling their boxrec sheets and picking out the big 'names' on it. You are a joker. No one is taking you seriously.

at the time floyd fought him, corrales was the best in the div and one of the most powerful punchers p4p. he went on to fight, and beat, a lot of the top guys in the 130-140 range. now tell me how he wasnt a monster???what more could he do to be a monster?? beat floyd???

Hatton? De la Hoya? which all tells me they were almost done or done by the time they face Pacquiao..
Hey ray, why all of a sudden you're talking about pacquiao?

Okay, I'll go along with your thoughts. Pac beat Marco and Marco went on and become a champion again.

I'm not saying that the criteria you are giving is the correct criteria but you are entitled to that belief.

I understand all of that, and this isn't a shot at Corrales entire career. This is soley about HBO hyping up some guy who doesn't deserve it (atleast at that time)

That's like someone hyping up Valero as some type of monster when his best win is alfaro. Yes he KO'd a bunch of people, but those guys were bums/c-class opponents. Now if he does great things afterwards, yes he would have earned it, but to label him as such now is premature, just like it was with corrales.

you know dempsey your a cool poster (in book) but yes he was considered a top guy, but I still don't see a win that would warrant the hype he was getting. I remember it like it was yesterday and while I wasn't a fan of corrales, I knew when he was fighting and the opposition he faced at the time. Again, I'm talking about leading up to that fight, and not what he did afterwards.

Years from now people will create similar threads to this, only difference being they'll substitute Manny's name for Diego's.

wtf.............? Is this the twilight zone?

that's like saying in retrospect "Oh yeah Jeff Lacy was real limited but he KTFO Calzaghe, Hopkins and Jones"
Sounds like you are a boxrec warrior, which also explains the Mayweather infatuation. That is what this is all about for you.

I watched Corrales from the begining and he was not defensively sound and had limited boxing ability. He had power and made it with that and heart but he was slow and took alot of punches. Don't look at his record and say "well he beat this guy and that guy" Watch all his fights(which I have) and try to analyze his style. Thats the problem that us long time us boxing observers have with you guys. You are so obsesed with making your favorite a great, you argue with neutral obsevations that don't support your hero.
