I'd prefer he fights Pavlik, tbh. But, if he doesn't wanna get stuck at Middleweight, then I don't blame him. There is NOBODY with a name at Middleweight right now, other than him and Pavlik. WW has more names and bigger draws for bigger $$$. Like Paul said, he doesn't wanna be fighting @ 40 years old.

Pavlik was given two shots at Williams and both times the fights were canceled due to Pavlik's staph infection. So Pavlik had his shot and now Team Williams wants to move on. Although I would definitely like to see a rematch with Martinez, I can't blame Team Williams for wanting to move back down to welterweight. Especially since that's where all the big money fights are. More power to Williams and his camp.

If he would have stuck to one weight class, he would have gotten the fights eventually. Now here he is in no-mans land again, torturing his body for some reason I cannot fathom.

His management team played the hype card, built him up to be some monster. He got shown to be human and vulnerable like everyone else so now they feel it is time to go to safer waters again.

This Kid could have been that monster, but his management team screwed him over big time. He should plant his feet at 154, 160 or 168...stay at one of them to acclimate his body to the weight and just fight.
He obviously wants the big fights at 147 but you're right, he's won a title at 147 so why not just move on (as no WW wants him) and try to dominate the JMW MW and SMW divisions becoming a four weight belt holder? Maybe even LHW in years to come.

Williams telegraphs his punches, he leaves his right hand down to low and leads in with his chin up. [B]If he drains himself down to 147 at this point, a strong welterweight will knock him out just like Shane knocked out Margarito in the late rounds.

Please. Shane even admitted that Paul would whoop his ass. 40 year old Mosley who's been outboxed and beaten by lesser fighters than Williams would get KILLED.

Actually, it's Pavlik who has the belts at 160, not Williams. So if Williams moves down to 147, it's him who missed his shot.
