I've always said that above 147 people will fight him. It's getting to the point where he and his trainer are just looking for a way to complain. Coming back down to 147lbs is dumb.

Shane Mosely : "Anybody at 147. I dont care who you are. It could be Paul Williams or this one or that one. Im not choosing fights anymore. Thats how confident I am that I am the best."

Theres Shane quoted as saying he would fight Paul.

Put your money where your mouth is son. Show me where Shane says Paul would whoop his ass.

I brought that up earlier. Really, Mosley should've fought him earlier in the year in the first place. Now he is tied up with Berto next month and it decreases his chances more of landing another big fight because his plate is still full. I think Shane can beat Williams.

I do think Williams has skill but he just can't hang with fighters his own size, quintana beat him, I thought Martinez beat him but it was close and they were still at a considerable size disadvantage. Williams can't hang with the middle weights which where he belongs. If he can handle Pavlik then i'll be proven wrong.

Who's to say Paul Williams can't make 147? If he feels he can make the weight and still fight at a level he is comfortable with, who is to say he shouldn't be fighting there? It seems that some fans are just scared of him or they just don't like him. The biggest names in boxing are at 147 right now. Pacquiao, Mayweather, Mosley, etc. However, if Williams wants a shot at them he needs to stay put at 147. He can't keep changing weight classes. If he can make the weight, then stay at 147. He is a much bigger name now than he was 2 years ago. If he goes after the belts, they can't avoid his name. Become a champion again at 147 and try to unify them all. I'm sick of people saying he is not a real welterweight... if he makes the weight and he is successful than why cry about it. Oh, he is too tall. Give me a break, thats a weak excuse. Just say you don't like Paul Williams instead of that garbage.

a 147 punching bag? i like the sound of that. he got hurt by sergio martinez... i'd love to see him get hit at a lower weight, by a stronger puncher and see him talking about "fear" at the end of the fight

Even if what you're saying is true, Cotto will never beat him and he won't go near him.

I rather see him stay at 154-160 and fight Pavlik or whoever...

All of the big name ww's have/can fight at 154 and that's the prfect place for Williams.

Cotto's been talking about moving up and I think Williams-Cotto would be a tremendous brawl.

                      Margarito
                      Cintron
                      Mayweather
                      Clottey
                      Mosley

have all fought above 147 and would all be incredible fights with Williams at 154.

Though I'd still like to see a Williams-Martinez II for some actual belts..
