      • I haven't seen a great deal of maidana apart from his win over Ortiz. Im not convinced hes that good. He has a great KO percentage against average fighters. The only fighter apart from Ortiz that really stands out on his record is Koltelnik who he lost to.
I dont see why Khan should want to duck him. If hes the mandatory challenger fight him like the champion should.

          • Sounds to me that it is not fair. 90 days? WTF man!

            • Often times when mandatories are forced, it is a mismatch and doesn't make sense to us boxing fans. If Maidana and Khan is forced, it is not a mismatch and does make sense. What is the golden child (Khan) made of? We saw why no one wants to face Maidana. If Khan is the everything they say he is, let us see that in the ring against Maidana.

Maidana is tough and dangerous. But we are told Khan has everything it takes to be a sensational superstar in this sport. You can't become that by getting in the ring with lame ducks, with people who don't test your skill and will. Khan's skill can not be questioned but who will he handle adversity when the time comes that he is battered for six, seven, and even more rounds.

Khan/Maidana March 2010. Sort out the pieces.

Khan is young. He should be fighting four times a year. And anyone who has a match and it is over in one round, they should be ready to go in 90 days. It's that simple.

                • If Khan wants Freddy Roach to train him for a fight (against anyone) he will need to wait until after Pac-Mayweather.

That may be an unspoken reason for avoiding any fights in early 2010.

Maybe they will pay Maidana off until after a lucrative fight like Hatton or JMM.

                  • I think Khan's promoter is very realistic. Most of Khan's opponents with the exception of Breidis Prescott had one thing in common, they couldn't punch or they were undersized. I don't think Warren is that comfortable with placing him in the ring with big punchers who also have cement chins.

Remember that Maidana turned down a Victor Ortiz rematch because he was waiting to fight the winner of Khan-Salita. The WBA will mandate this fight. Khan doesn't really need the WBA belt and the fight is not worth a lot of money. He will have a good excuse only if Warren is able to get him a bigger fight. If he can't, then it's going to look bad.

                    • They should have never got Khan to fight for a belt so soon.

Even though Khan has a belt, he is still just a young prospect in my eyes. A very good prospect yes, but not a champion.

They should have waited another year for him to mature and then get a title shot. He and his crew should be fine with taking on all comers and styles if they are going to label themselves as a champion.

Blame this on a ****ty management team. It is not Khan's fault as I am sure the kid would fight anyone.
