If he'd been inactive for months then yes, but he fought 5 days ago.
Because they know, if he doesn't, he'll just pick another over the hill featherweight, i mean he is talking of Castillo!!! What the hell...... Fight someone your own size who isn't 80 years old!!!!

I think there was a dispute over who the actual mandatory was, which Salita's team won because they were more stubborn, and the WBA compromised by saying Maidana gets his shot immediately afterwards.

Khan doesn't have to fight Maidana within 90 days. The fight has to be at least seriously talked about between the camps within this time. If Amir Khan doesn't fight Marcos Maidana in the first half of next year, he should not be the WBA champion. What's the point of even having an alphabelt if you aren't prepared to defend it against a few of their top ranked contenders? Let's face it, it's hardly as if Amir is looking to unify instead.

I'm not a big fan of alphabelt titles but I'm even less a fan of boxers that pick and choose their fights acting like they've been champion for decades.

Khan was never going to fight this guy, whether they'd given him 90 days or 900 days.

LOL yeah he did, get your facts straight....He didnt wanna fight Paulie after Paulie fought Diaz, they went to Khans team for the fight and they didnt want it, it was effectively as a back up plan if the Diaz rematch did not happen...so they continued to pursue the rematch with Diaz
