Actually they are at a more natural weight since you never hear about an mma fighter having to cut to much weight for fights. They can eat and be healthy without depleating themselves. Also unlike Boxing even the HW division in MMA has a Maximum weight limit.

Boxing is the king purpetrator of fighters fighting out of a weight class example Jose Luis Castillo.

The average MMGAY fighter cuts anywhere between 15-20 pounds to make two weight classes below his natural weight. It is rather embarrasing to see a grown man who's supposed to be a tough guy,not be able to absorb a simple solid shot,it makes MMGAY a laughing stock.

What??? Most MMA fighters stay in the same weight class their entire career. Name a champion boxer that hasn't had to move up in weight because of age and a slowed metabolism. I bet you will be hard pressed to find one.

Are you really ****** enough to ignore the the gap in weight classes between the two? The average gap in the weight classes in MMGAY is 15-20 pounds. The average gap in boxing is 4-8 pounds. Most MMGAY fighters come from a wrestling background and are taught from an early age on how to cut weight properly, boxers aren't taught like this as they were brought up in a sport based upon skill rather than brawn.

I was trying to say, most MMA fighters are blown up. They pack on so much muscle on a small frame to cater the tough guy image. This is why they can't take a hit from each other, they are winging 175 lb punches at 135 lb jaws. On top of that they just aren't that well conditioned. All this short explosive stuff is just an excuse for an easy workout. They all get immensely tired even when nothing is happening. I mean look at Kimbo and that other bum he was fighting the other day. They both do that standard tough guy, hands on knees breathing heavily (I gave it my all) image. Almost started laughing.

Anthony Johnson? All wrestlers are notorious for cutting weight and most of them are great at it which is why they usually don't have to move up.

Going through weight classes has been popular in boxing since its inception.

From Stanley Ketchel to Sam Langford, SRR to SRL, etc.

Fighters go in trying to be as low as possible to go up through the ranks.

Juan Manuel Marquez probably could have stayed at 126, but that's not where the money's at. Same with Calderon. Juan Diaz. Chris John is still at 126. etc.

                wrong on all accounts.

btw, fighters in mma fight with gloves that have very little padding. almost every single punch is that much more dangerous as a result. mma is more like a real fight. in a real fight, you wouldn't let someone land 200+ punches on you like in boxing. You have to be weary of every single punch thats why fighters are more defensive in mma than boxing.

15-20 pound diffrence in weight classes actually makes it harder to fight below you natural weight class because if you move up in weight you have to fight fighters that are gonna be 15-20 pounds heavier. You lose all your size advantages and actually put yourself in a position where you can be completely manhandled since the strength encreases dramatically more when you move up in weight than it does in boxing Imagine if their was a 15-20 pound weight diffrence in boxing. Pac would have to jump from light weight all the way to JR Middle. Trust me people stay in their natural weight classes for a reason in MMA.

Boxers take babysteps up in weight, MMA fighter go from 5ft 8 in 155 pound light weights to 6ft 1 in 170 welterweight. Thats to dramatic for most people and to much weight to cut for someone to look for a size advantage. It actually discourages fighting out of your weight class.

you're using one exception and making him the rule. anthony johnson is an extremely rare case. you won't see many if any mma fighters cutting that much weight.

And Rumble Johnson is also a c level MMA fighter and always seems to gas when he needs stamina. Not a good example.
