    Don't hate on MMA and the UFC, because of it boxing promoters were forced to step their game up which gave us many of the great fights we watched over the past few years. Competition is always good and boxing needed MMA to help jumpstart it again in my opinion.

        Well if you don't want people talking down on MMA tell Dana White to shut the *** up and stop telling people lies! All he does is lie about the UFC's PPV buys! He brings in bums off the streets and calls them UFC legends, and former WWE stars turn to Champions in a couple of months after making their debutes, how many people have turned into champions in boxing after a couple of months after their pro debutes?
        You have to actually fight your way to the top, it takes yeaRS to become somebody in boxing!

          I really don't understand this moronic fanboy mentality as if you could only (exclusively) like either MMA OR boxing.

          You know what, I started off as an MMA fan and enjoy both, a lot, so **** all the idiots who constantly badger eachother about which is better. Best is all relative to taste.

          And if I could play devil's advocate for a moment and respond to the OP, the reason a boxing PPV (nowadays) would beat an MMA one is based entirely on the ratio of the amount of popular events each produces, boxing does not have exciting cards every month.

          Not to mention that mixed martial arts is growing at an unbelievable rate, if either dies I'd be disappointed, the only thing I wish would die is the fanboy mentality

              What the hell does that have to do with anything, Dana White does not represent MMA.

              Brock didn't start off in WWE mind you, he was a professional wrestler in college with a record of 106-5 (IIRC), he was just skilled enough in his area of wrestling that he was able to beat another wrestler, that being Couture, for the title.

              He already had a specialty and it wasn't acting for Vince McMahon

                  Truth is MMA is the one doing bad, boxing has been doing geat even better than ever if you ask me. This could possibly be the best boxing has ever done.
                  MMA has Lesnar, he brings in the wrestling crowd, aside from that, it's only got a certain group that follows MMA.

                  I agree with the above 100% I rag on MMA because they started this ****. They said our sport was dieing, they said they could dominate us both financially and physically. I didn't see that and I'm not seeing that now.

                  You can't mess with a 2000 B.C sport.

                      how is MMA growing, people say it;s gorwing at an incredible rate? i'm seeing less of it to be honest. Half of the words spoken about MMA are pure fabrication.

                      Some common words from Dana White that MMA fans take as truth;

                      "world class"
                      "athlete"
                      "Hagler Hearns of MMA"

                      It's funny how everyone wow's over a jab thrown, why don't they just watch boxing.
