My original post was geared towards stating that Boxing's history spans 100+ years and in those years the sport progressed as will MMA. Where did I say it was at its best 100 years ago?
You were comparing MMA's progress in 20 saying Boxing has had "all this time" to get this far ahead and the comparison is unfair.

Well I'm saying Boxing is WAY less popular than it used to be so really it doesn't have this 100 year head start (interpreted as an upswing) that MMA doesn't.

And I'm pretty sure that BJ can't replicate slickness for 15 mins., but I'm not going to **** on either of them because both styles are talored to how either are comfortable with their bodies.

      Same destination, different paths.

One's hard and fast and the other is slow and painful.

Okay, must you speak like you just finished reading the Tao of Jeet Kun Do ( a plagiarized document)?

I'm not ****ting on anyone. I'm saying the average UFC fan dullard, Dana White, Rogaine etc. all think that these guys have "great hands" or "kickboxing level striking" or "boxing striking" or "boxing training". The reality is much different.

        Sorry.

LOL. Did you see the BJ Penn-Sean Sherk fight? I watched it a while ago, the commentators were going nuts, and basically the entire fight was the two of them standing in front of each other, Penn throwing a jab, and ducking out of the way of Sherk's counter.

And everyone was going nuts over it.

              3. Pacquiao
              4. Mosley
              5. Cotto

Imagine all these names in one card vs any other known fighters.
And MMA's top 5 guys facing other big MMA names I'd still say Boxing blows MMA out of the water! Head to head in the same night!
From what I understand, PPV wise Mosely isn't a draw - isn't that why Floyd didn't wanna fight him?. And Oscar is retired now so he's can be counted as one of boxing's biggest named.

Pac vs Floyd will out-do anything MMA can come up with but once that's done people would rather watch freakshows like Brock Lesnar, Kimbo etc though Pac and Floyd both could do 1 million easy you can't put the whole sport down to 2 fighters.

UFC 100 was the biggest MMA event to date and did 1.5 million buys. DLH vs Mayweather is boxing's biggest and did 2.4 million buys.
