hill was'nt past prime, just because he lost to michal he was past prime?(typical boxingscene mentality)
i dont care what you say about johnson, even after jones, if you take jones out of his resume he arguably never lost a fight
if jones was picking on de la hoya, tito trinidad etc,
IF HE HAD HOPKINS RESUME WOULD YOU RANK HIM HIGHER?
doubtful, that'd look very bad on someone that was as strong and fast as roy jones in his primeComment

There's a great irony in this post as we listened to Hopkins tell us last night that he still wants to fight Jones. Anyway, Hopkins has a great resume. Jones does as well. I'm of the opinion Jones' resume is better.Comment

He arguably never lost? He lost to Tarver clearly!!
Jones did not beat a prime Johnson anyway, he beat a past prime Johnson.Comment

Hopkins still wants to fight Jones? He should fight Dawson or retire.Last edited by Adamantium; 12-03-2009, 10:57 AM.Comment

Johnson may have been past it but he was coming off an extremely impressive, shocking and chilling KO of William Guthrie - the man many on message boards (like this one) had annointed as the person who would beat Roy. Guthrie was undefeated, trained by Roy Sr, was a tall, lanky southpaw with great pop in both hands and was being hyped by HBO as the man to challenge Jones. Johnson put his lights out with a beautiful, perfect right hook. He still had plenty...plenty left.Comment
