It used to be not anymore. The only way is for the #1 fighting the #2 guy. Or in some instance in very special occasions the #1 guy fighting the #3 guy.
dont know if ur bein sarcastic but if the #1 fighter in the division fights the # 2 fighter then that will establish the lineal title.
It cuz it used to be that all you have to do is unify. Remember Roy was the Ring Champ cuz he unified the belts. But, Dariusz was the lineal champ. And, I think the #1 LHW at the time. Or at worse #2.
That is what I thought. But, according to Easy E you have to have a belt attached to it to be considered lineal belt. If you don't have a major belt you not a lineal champ. According to Easy E of course.
that is not what I said at all. Recently in the WW division it has passed throught the WBC belt, but you do not need a belt to be considered welterweight champ.

The Ring title and the linear title are not always in junction.
Not sure how I feel about a title from a magazine being considered as relevant as a sanctioning body. I have always considered it more figurative.
