Kirkland is in jail. And when he wasn't, he wasn't a better option than Winky Wright. Or Kelly Pavlik. What other guys are you referring to? Sergio Martinez? They may meet in December--and to think that was Williams' BACKUP plan. Who else is there?

I'm not sure. IMO, he just needs a megafight to be more appreciated. Me, I was hoping he took the Clottey fight and make Clottey look bad. That would make the entire WW notice him ( sigh .. or avoid him ). But to be honest, he should stop worrying of having megafight. It will come as long as he does not stop handling out quality wins.

Truest thread ive read in a while. paul needs to stfu and fight some contenders, and earn a big fight. he should stop ducking clottey and fight him. clottey is a top 5 ww and paul aint even in the top ten.

That is funny, if anyone would have told me back then that Floyd would be this huge star I would have laughed at them. He was a sweet fighter but back then no one except hardcore fans knew who Floyd was and he was considered a secret to those who really knew the sport (how times change).

It is a good way to tell who was watching the sport at that point though.
