i dont like paul because he talks so much smack hes like a tarver he talks all this and that but when he gets his ass kicked he makes excuses...hes a diva but hasnt proved to be elite he beat a 900 yr old phillips and winky who looked like **** in his previous fight and was inactive for 2 yrs pwill needs to fight quintana who has expressed that he wants to fight him numerous times but pwill doesnt want it kirkland called him out but pwill thinking hes a superstar said that kirkland doesnt have a big enough fanbase to fight him

Paul williams did reply. He said he wouldn't fight Clottey because Clottey was a loser. I just dislike how guys like Mosley, Pwilliams and other claim fighters are ducking them and how they cant get fights, when there are clearly making cases to fight them.

Cotto said he has no problems fighting Williams but why do that when you have options such as Pac, Mosley rematch, Margartio rematch and other big name fights. Its Paul's job to put himself in a position that other fighters and more importantly fans will take him seriously. He beat Marg but then got out hustle by Quintana killing all of his buzz. He beat Winky and while that is good, he needs to continue to build on that. He does so by blasting the guys willing to face him, which contrary to what people believe, are alot of top quality guys.

Not only do I think so, but other guys like Floyd, Mosley and others think its ridiculous to fight an unproven guy when the can fight guys who have already established themselves. All of those guys have paid there dues and put in work to be where they are at today. Paul has not plain and simple.

I don't even think it was a fight that was limited to hardcore fans. If you were a boxing fan in general, and not just some casual fan that only watches boxing for megafights, then this fight was big back then.


FWIW I actually thought Corrales was gonna KO Floyd back then. I watched him annialate Manfredy and Corrales then was like a run away freight train. He was just going through opponents and on top of that...Floyds defense wasnt near what it was today leading up to that fight.

He rematched Quintana and K.O'd him in the 1st. Dominated Vernon Phillips, shut out Winky. What does he have to do then? Clottey? Quintana? Where does that take him?

Who has Quintana ever beaten? Besides Paul Williams of course, LOL.

Verno Phillips was 39 and had 10 losses. Only person's Verno ever beat was Cory Spinks... by split decision.

Winky Wright... 37 years old, first fight in 21 months. Winky hasn't won a fight since 2006. Winky is fighting Grady Brewer next.

Williams' only win is a great one. A war with a plaster-fortified Margarito that he won closely, but clearly. But besides that, Paul hasn't done ****.

why does he think he is "owed" a big fight at this point of his career. He calls out all these other big name boxers, and when they don't want to fight him, he considers them "ducking" him. I just feel he forgets that these boxers have earned their status by building their resume with quality opponents.

Floyd, Manny, Cotto, Mosley and other big name boxers had to go through quality opposition before the stars actually responded to their request for a fight with them. I guess Paul thinks he is above this.

Before Floyd got Oscar...he had to go through Corrales, Castillo, Gatti, Judah and other mid-level/ top contenders to atleast establish a name for himself. Same with Cotto and others.

I like Paul, but outside of Margarito who has he beaten? These are all quality guys that could help build his resume and better help his chances of landing a big fight. In fact all of these guys are more than willing to fight him.

Not only do I think he beats those guys...but If he dominates them like I think he does, then he will get just about any big fight he wants.

I totally agree with this TS. and this is the only beef i got with him.

hell even Margarito went through hell to gets his shots(cheating or not)
