Give credit?? It's prize fighting, so it's all about if the money is good enough to take on the challenge. This said, at least Zayas has a bit of a chance and he's trying to unify, which makes it more relevant than "time ran out long ago" Thurman looking for one last paycheck.

The slaughter has to end. I didnt enjoy watching Old Time running around like a chicken ducking school boy rocks. Tim Tsyue picked Thurman (as a victim) and the promoter held that as justification for a title shot. Thurman went from being a safe comeback fight to a contender with nothing in between but spoken words.

Good for both these cats. Neither have fought anyone worth mentioning. This could either be a shutout or a brawl.

Having a zero isn’t a big deal dude.

Boxers have to progress. We can’t expect every boxer to be Tyson, Leonard or Salvador Sanchez and have world class fights from 21-24.

I mean ATGs like Duran and Chavez had literally 45-50 fights against guys that weren’t all that. It didn’t hurt their overall development.

Fair point about too many titles.

Relatively normal back then. Mike Tyson had like 19 fights in his first year as a pro.

Can't happen really this day and age but I think it should go back to how it used to be when new pros fought once a month or more and just got the rounds in.

Vergil has nobody else to fight.

Fundora will stay fighting old PBC fighters
Kelly has the IBF with a Rehydration clause
Zayas was not interested in Vergil

Skill wise Ennis is probably the best
                  Vergil has volume and power
                  Fundora has the reach advantage
Zayas has the best promoter to build him up. But a gift WBO doesn't make you great.

Zayas took it because it's a geat Payday and DAZN made Top Rank make the fight.
No offense bro but your wrong about Zayas, Zayas signed to fight Ortiz before and Ortiz decided to fight Madrimov who was coming off a loss and had known lung issues at the time of the fight, thats why he dropped out of a fight with Bohachuk and he still has lung issues which were evident in his last fight where he was gasping for air and almost lost a tune up fight.

Zayas even after he got a belt sent a contract to fight Ortiz in PR and Ortiz again refused saying he didnt want to fight in PR and came up with the excuse that PR fights dont sell.

Zayas also wanted to fight Fundora but Fundora and his team wanted a rehydration clause for WHATEVER reason then he vacated the WBO title for WHATEVER reason and went on to fight Tim Tszyu.

To me Zayas is 23 and is trying to make fights even this fight with Boots he pushed for it. Ortiz could have had a Zayas fight a long time ago but hasnt wanted it or took on other fights and those are just facts.

All these other guys are 28 years old and havent acomplished much in comparison age wise. FYI By no means am i saying Zayas is better then them at this point.....

Ortiz should have been a champ by now and Boots said he was going to "clean out" 147lb and then left. he had a chance to fight Crawford and didnt take it as well and thats on record.

Ortiz says he want to fight but then never takes the fights? Ortiz was scheduled to fight Stanionis 2 times and nothing ( i get it he gets a pass because of his sickness) then he goes and messes up 3 more times 2 fights with Zayas and now this Boots fight that he and his team messed up. I mean come on guys at some point people are going to have to open up there eyes and see that Ortiz and his team are a problem for themselves or maybe they dont want to fight??? Thats just too many misses on the Ortiz team to be a legit coincidence.

Just fyi, Boots had destroyed Dulorme 4 years prior to the ATG Ortiz fought him.

Nobody is doubting Zayas's valor. We know he has the heart of a lion. We argue about the bait and switch. We are led up the rosy path and get stuck with something less. From almost 50-50 to Boots with the lions share. Zayas has his version of hit and run, tap and flee. It's all the same, Boots by the Eddy master plan.
