I totally forgot Crawford but I wouldn't have him as high as most would as his resume lacks for me. I guess I would stick him #8
Sure he has more names on his resume than say a Bivol but they was all past it, way past it. Bivol beat a better, fresher Canelo, Zurdo is just as good if not better than anyone else on his resume, Beterbiev despite his age is certainly better. I can't put him over Bivol even if he is more accomplished, I just feel Bivol has the quality in terms of wins and two of them was practically punch perfect against peak opponents.
Now it feels wrong seeing Marquez slide off my list but guess its due to a lack of depth on his resume.
Inoue - Not for me. Good fighter, very accomplished but a poor resume. Best win a shot Donaire who has practically lost everytime he has stepped up in the last 10-15yrs or so.
And I just can't pretend guys like TJ Doheny, Marajohn? Paul Butler and these sorts of C level fighters are much good. Second best win; Fulton sure he's a bit long in the tooth and wasn't his best weight but like we seen the other week that ain't no elite fighter, not even close.
Many will probably disagree but I'd put Marquez, Wladimir etc on before Inoue with no hesitation.
For me despite the accomplishments he's probably nearer #20 or something👍 2Comment

Top Soviet Bivol's story is still being writtenI totally forgot Crawford but I wouldn't have him as high as most would as his resume lacks for me. I guess I would stick him #8I think Inoue & Lomachenko are too high, not even top 10.
Who is missing or sort of bordering? Marquez, Cotto, Froch, Wlad, Sergio Martinez, Bivol? Estrada, Lara, GGG
I think I'd have it more like;
1. Floyd Mayweather
2. Manny Pacquaio
3. Oleksandr Usyk
4. Roman Gonzalez
5. Bernard Hopkins
6. Andre Ward - Feels a little bit high
7. Dmitry Bivol
8. Canelo Alvarez
9. Carl Froch
10. Juan Manuel Marquez
That was difficult I feel bad leaving some out - not sure why its a silly list that means feck all.
It doesn't feel right me leaving out Lara, especially & frankly it comes down to nothing but him being robbed. Why should we/I punish fighters for this? If it isn't for 2 robberies in particular the guys probably right up there with a strong case for as high as maybe even #3 or something

Kind of significant though, isn't it? The Ring Magazine.
You've heard of it, right? The Ring...Magazine?
It's only 100+ years old and the most known and historical magazine in Boxing and the same magazine that has provided the rankings for essentially the entirety of the time since professional boxing was birthed.
It is at best, news worthy. Not exactly Dave from Stokes list, is it?
Furthermore you could always just not post in the thread, that's an option, if you didn't know. Sometimes I'm not entirely sure if you know that's an option you have.👍 1Comment
