He's definitely a flawed fighter but always a much watch. Super fun fighter, man. Never thought he'd go this far.
Wardley's recuperative abilities and self belief are special

He's the British version of Wilder but about 35% better, boxing wise.
He's an absolute animal and to come from four white collar fights with NO amateur experience and in 20 fights landing a shot at arguably one of the greatest boxers who ever lived is right out of a fucking Rocky movie. -
He's one of very few fighters in years who get me genuinely excited on the edge of my seat. Sometimes I think I am the most miserable boxing fan going but he often makes me remember why I love the sport.
When he was taking some licks in the 10th round and nodded down to the canvas signalling 'come on' walking forward menacingly with his hands down then proceeded to badly hurt Parker I literally jumped out of my chair.
He's must watch TV. Whatever he lacks he makes up with in power and a huge pair of boII0cks!Comment

His boxing actually wasn't bad tonight either.
He negated parkers jab and I felt that he was the ring general, the commentators kept saying Wardley looked tired but I noticed parkers hands were getting lower and lower round by round. Being tired isn't just about breathing hard, the stoppage didn't come out of the blue to me, Parker was getting more stationary as the fight went on and you could tell Wardley was going to do or die.
Wardley clearly improved from the Huni fight where I felt he had fallen in love with his power too much.Comment

I was surprised at how good his shot selection was. He's one fighter I make sure I watch and his boxing ability was clearly better than he's shown previously. Possibly the Huni fight embarrassed his team into action because he was made to look a complete novice in the ring during that fight.
One thing you can't deny is that he is must watch. That's got huge commercial value.
Incredible story.

Wardley’s skills have improved for sure but there’s only so far they can go when he had no amateur background. Hes always going to have gaping holes in his game.
That said, he’s talented, has crazy power, he has fast hands and quite good timing but what he has in abundance is heart, chin, stamina. You can’t teach that stuff.
What he’s done up to this point is incredible. He ain’t going to win but in rooting for him against Usyk.Last edited by IronDanHamza; 10-26-2025, 01:59 AM.Comment

He is a big overachiever. From almost getting stopped by Clarke to this. It is hard not to like him.
Wardley is a natural pure fighter. never surrenders. And his skills have improved since Huni fight.Last edited by JakeTheBoxer; 10-26-2025, 02:05 AM.Comment

Huni still gives Fabio hell. They should rematch if Fabio picks up a title.
Parker just isn't very good. He never has been. Said pre-fight that Parker should be on his bike, jabbing and potshotting, that was his only chance. If he got into a firefight with Fabio, Fabio would win.
Faster, more powerful, more explosive.
Parker doesn't have power, or explosiveness.
Huni is busy, he provides angles, his feet are much better than Josephs because he's faster and looks to smother and negate the opponents work.
Parker was just an average guy who was in the right place v the man for a couple of fights.
People fell for the hype.Comment

I'd argue Parker is above average but I take your point. He's a good size, great chin, good movement, great stamina, decent power... but nothing really exceptional.Huni still gives Fabio hell. They should rematch if Fabio picks up a title.

Fabio will never go near Huni again. The winning shot really came from nowhere and he can't take the chance of being boxed around the ring again. Stepping a long way down the rankings to face a guy you know can beat you wouldn't be a smart move.
Davidson was right when he said Parker isn't as good a boxer as Huni. It's not even close. But he does possess plenty of things that Huni doesn't, including decent power and a great chin. Probably a better overall fighter but certainly not a better or faster technical boxer.
Huni v Parker would actually be a decent fight for both! Huni deserves an opportunity after that performance against Wardley and Parker needs a decent opponent to get him back in the mix. A top level Aus v NZ fight would capture the imagination in this part of the world.Last edited by Toffee; 10-26-2025, 03:38 AM.Comment

I bet Parker barely wins a round v Huni, maybe none. Put the myth of Parker to bed, let's see it.

Or set him up with Moses, I would put a lot of money on him getting stopped in 4 rounds, probably 2. Styles make fights. They should not stick him in with anyone faster than him.
Josephs feet are stuck in mud. He doesn't have nearly the power of Fabio. And he's just too slow.
What has Parker done to be rated above average?
He did beat the man formally known as Wilder, fair play.
But Zhang was knocking him down for fun. He just either didn't think he was behind or had zero trust in his stamina. We have seen how limited Zhangs stamina is, but there was no point in that fight Zhang was even in trouble. Parker always looked one punch away from being stopped. It was Zhang who lost the fight from not throwing, not Parker who won it.
Other than that? Demolished by Joe Joyce, lost to Chisora on pretty much everyone's card, lost to Whyte, struggled with Massey.
The man just isn't that good. He has three weaknesses that will limit him again at anyone above average.
- Lack of power
- Poor feet
- No grit to fight, he fights in his comfort zone and will always be in trouble when he's out that comfort zone.
We can agree to disagree, but I'm 100% sure that when Parker fights his next live body, he is likely stopped or dominated.
Stick him in with Kabayel lol. Again Parker wouldn't see round 5.Comment
