I also heard Peter Fury claim Makhmudov has a heart like a pea.
His two losses was legitimate stoppage losses. One fight he got up from bodyshots multiple times and went down swinging and the ref waved it off the other was a doctor stoppage in a fight his eye was completely shut and massively swollen.
He didn't quit or show a lack of heart.
Unlike Allen who doesn't even try half the time or does nothing at all before giving it a little go then happily resides to losing on points.
He has no dog in him, I've never seen a guy so happy to lose.

Worst part is his fans forget then kid themselves all over again.

The thing that annoyed me for the build up of this fight is that a lot of people were citing Allen's win over Fisher and Makhmudov's loss to Kabayel as reasons why Allen would get the win. Makhmudov's nothing special but far better than Fisher and Allen's nowhere near Kabayel. They were weird comparisons that made no sense.

No heart at all. Never goes for broke. Never even really pushes the pace really.

Gives up at first sign of adversity, just goes into a shell and settles for a decision loss. Well, unless he flat out quits like vs Frazer Clarke.

As mentioned earlier, I was ringside for Allen-Thomas on the undercard of Brook-Spence, that was 2017, 8 YEARS AGO, and they were saying the same nonsense then, pushing him for no reason other than he's a court jester and fat goof who messes around. And in that fight, he was getting outboxed with relative ease by Lenroy who's about domestic level at best and at no point did Allen even try and go for it.

I see nothing likeable at all about this guy. He's a crap fighter, but even as a man, his whole shtick seems so forced and put on.

Mak may be slow, getting older, and a limited all around fighter, but he had a gameplan tonight and saw it through. Fun fight.

Makhmudov vs Joshua actually makes sense. I hope they get it made.

Except it is ok to try and fail. Isn't it? It's got to be better than dodging challenges and never really being found out?

He took a hard fight and walked through some sickening blows. Then he was honest and said he wasn't good enough.

I thought he gave that everything. His plan was pretty clear - take it late and stop Mak. He did pretty well with that strategy and made it an interesting fight but just ate far too much throughout the fight to be able to apply enough pressure late.

We now know his level and so does he. That's what we should want from every fighter.

You cannot go into a fight thinking (and saying out loud) : "i can't wait to retire." SO ... i guess he's retiring now.

Dave is likeable and brave. Hope he hangs them up now. He has headlined a big arena in a small town (Sheffield is a fairly big small town) so good luck to the man. He is not remotely at a level to fight even Adeleye. He has 2 children and a responsibility to be a good father, which he won’t be if he can’t remember anything, slurs his words and needs help to do up his laces. Call it a day Dave

And before anyone says anything, I existed (I can’t say lived) for 4 long, horrible years in Sheffield. Its advocates say it’s a big small town. Personally I hated it and am now happy to be in Birmingham which is a big bad city!

I always have a sense that there's a sad ending coming for this story.

He's such a likeable bloke. I just hope he's being looked after and his money is being taken care of.
