This is something BIG I've learned over the years, how different things are in different regions here in the US- especially in decades past.
I grew up in California and taught mostly here (save for a few years in Arizona). Though it is diminishing there really has been a regional difference in this country.. For example, I talked to a history teacher from the south a couple years back, they told me about the big project they had their students do on General Lee's horse "Traveler". I was blown away; I mean outside of me never doing a project about a horse, I wouldn't spend that much time on a horse whose best noted for being ridden by a confederate general. She told me how it was expected.
I bet they didn't have any such project requirements for general Grant's horse!

To be fair, I am okay somewhat, with them learning more about those in the confederacy- as that is more state history. I have a hard time venerating the confederacy though, and thats what was going on. Also, on a professional level, I darn sure have a problem doing a project about a horse.Last edited by DeeMoney; 09-30-2025, 01:56 PM.👍 1Comment

Sometimes you can go with the flow all day long. If you're a premeditated target.....and depending on the degree to which someone (to include the police) wants to harm you, there's pretty much nothing you can do.
im not sure about that one, if i was in that situation i would try to go with flow as much as possible, maybe point out a few things if needed, bud is a cool calm customer i doubt he would aggravate things & would ask what the stop was for, if he was at fault for something then he would have to suck it up and accept the ticket, if not then go with whatever procedure is there to fight it i guess, if its a made up charge and lies by a bad cop the cop should be the one whos in big big trouble here

Once again you're believing what an article stated...based on what the police said. The article said Crawford was ticketed for reckless driving. It also said that while the cops were talking to him, they noticed a gun on the car's floor, so they ordered everyone out at gunpoint. Some of you guys are quick to call that racial profiling. It sounds to me like the cops were doing their job. If Crawford hadn't been driving recklessly, he likely wouldn't have been ticketed for it, and if the cops hadn't spotted a gun on the floor of the car, they likely wouldn't have ordered everyone out at gunpoint.
Remember what the police said about the Tyree Nicholas killing? You're probably saying "who".
The video footage told another story altogether.
Let's see what this investigation shows.
But I'm sorry, based on everything that's been released so far, I'm sensing racial profiling, and untruths being told. I've lived this. Have you?
Answer me on this. Because you seem so sure of yourself.
Can you tell me what erratically driving looks like for someone who doesn't drink or do drugs?
I mentioned earlier that police pull Black and Brown people over all of the time for bogus infractions, hoping to find them in violation of something greater. Slapping Blacks and Brown people with tickets is an easy way for the government to generate millions of dollars. Folks are generally poor and can't afford to go to trial to fight these tickets on principal.
However, Bud has money. I believe he wasn't in the wrong. And will fight this on principal.
These are just my thoughts just as you have yours. Time will tell us everything that we truly need to know.Comment

if they are bad they prob want to aggravate u and pin as many citations on you as possible and if u physically resist arrest you and maybe even shoot uComment

The minds that came up with this project about Lee's horse probably thought they were putting a nice little twist in the curriculum. "We could have the students do a project about Robert E Lee, but everyone has done that. How about we have them do one on Traveler, his horse? Now, THAT will get their little minds working!" Sheer genius, principal Billy Bob!

I cannot speak on racism being at play, only because I’m not from nor living in America so have no clue on relations between police and community. I hear things and see things. I also believe people’s lived experiences in this comment section who are far more educated on the matter than I am.
I also feel like there’s a sense of resentment on the police behalf and don’t like the fact Terence is this hometown hero with keys to the city essentially. Probably think they’re true heroes that don’t get the recognition they think they deserve. By the sounds of it some heads could roll at the PD involved. I’m sure whoever’s involved will be really sorry once they lose their job and pension! Terence is the king of Omaha right now and rightly so. God bless Bud Crawford and his family.🤢 1Comment
