I watched a highlight of Berlanga going to train when he was with Andre Rozier. And he was on the cell phone telling his boys to "pull up", and I said to myself right then and there, he has an immature attitude towards this game. His mindset will be his downfall.

Haven’t thought about that guy in decades — probably since he lost to Starling. Lol I have a recollection of being at my friend’s sixth-floor apartment on 175th street. I happened to be looking out the window, and caught sight of Jose standing next to his sports car (I believe it was a Camaro or Firebird). This was 1982 — I was 16 then — and I remember noting how skinny his legs looked. Lol Funny the things you remember…and so strange to see that name after so many years. Anyway…it’s a good comparison. Baret seemed so promising. He was knocking everyone out. I recall watching one of his fights on TV. But that first loss sent his career down the chute.CubanGuyNYC likes this.

I have no doubt his training of Parker had Dubois pissing his pants at the impending loss so Uncle Fisheyes gave Sniffles a case of Duck Flu.
Parker hasn't achieved anything yet.

Lol No, can’t say that I do. Had to look him up. I see that Manny started his career in ‘85 and fought his last bout in 2001. Many of his last fights took place in central Florida, where I now live. He’s recorded as living in Ocala, which is not far from Orlando. He was a professional opponent: a record of 7-24-1.CubanGuyNYC likes this.
