An average world level sportsman at 39 vs a 28 year old with unlimited resources pooled into 7 years of training and experience.

I think it would happen in most sports and you may have done a better job of explaining exactly why it is so unimpressive.

By 39, most sportsmen are heavily declining. And Paul picked one who was never that good to start with and has declined more than most given he's been effectively out of the sport for about 8 years.

This isn't a sign of Paul's credibility in the sport, nor a sign that boxing is easy. It's exactly what it looks like. A young man picking off anyone who really shouldn't be lacing them up.

Do you think...unless they were selling out....that Jake Paul could beat Tony Bellew or Carl Froch? He couldnt stop a 58yo Mike Tyson...regardless of the talk that he took it easy. If boxing only had one title belt per division Chavez Jr. Would never even been a champion ever. He was a son of a Mexican champion legion that picked up a belt that is owned by Mexicans. Chavez already lost to Anderson Silva. He's been a breathing punching bag for the last 8 years or so.

Paul has the benefit of being able to train full-time and have the best of everything for his preparation. He can also rely on expert matchmaking. His opponents have been smaller, older, less skilled, etc. The Fury fight was probably the closest to him fighting a peer in terms of age, size and he was going up against a part-time boxer who prefers to be a celebrity more. He lost.

I will say this. If you’re tough as hell and have balls, you can make a halfway decent name for yourself and make a living. Even if it’s just as a sparring partner for a well known pro.

Boxing needs human punching bags. Guys who will get paid to go rounds with a guy, but will still lose every round.

Im not just referring to this fight. Tell me another sport where you can literally never play it until you're an adult and get to the very top like some world champions.

I don't wanna hear boxers are great sportsmen again. Brave? Absolutely. But it's a sport that people can start very late and still beat champions because the standard of sporting ability is so low.

Put it into perspective...do you think you could never dribble a basketball until the age of 21 and then within a few years be able to compete in a game with even the most mediocre retired nba player? There's no way.
