his back looked large and muscular

We only have one fight though with a Ryan who didnt want to throw. The knockdown caught right off guard but didnt really hurt him much more like a flash knockdown but ryan also fought scared so maybe he does have power who knows

the only thing i noticed was he was pretty dfensively minded keeping his right hand up the whole time to guard the hook, he can atleast be mindful in his fighting other than that too many unknowns but like others said welter is really weak right now so he could get a belt for sure

Against a fighter like Ryan, who doesn't press him or do anything at all beyond standing and hoping Rolly blunders, Rolly is good. Against a pressure fighter like Isaac Cruz, or even a fighter like Tank who knows how to set up a counter, I think Rolly's wheels will still fall off. Rolly's defense is tight unless you actually test it.

Champion mentality. In contrast, Haney looked scared in the ring last night after getting beaten down by Garcia previously.

I give him a good shot against ANY Welterweight except Boots.
I agree with you. I think he deserves props... I mean everyone is so quick to dismiss Rolly because he has less natural born talent, but all this time while everyone else is sitting on their thumbs Rolly has been fighting! He already fought Pitbull who I think is fantastic, Davis, Ryan now... He seems to be learning. He will never have the handspeed of Ryan but his left hook was solid and at Welter he looks solid... Just wondering how his chin holds up, but time will tell.

Rolly reminds me so much of Chisora. Derrick became a fan favorite because he fought. And it gave him opportunities. He almost had Usyk for a bit lol. Rolly is the same way: He fights, and he creates opportunities.

I do think Rolly was "twitchy" but I also think maybe he learned from his fight with Pit Bull. I also think Cruz is very good, so his ability to press a guy, like he also did to Tank, does not mean Rolly will fall.

Heres where I respectfully disagree with a lot of you (apparently lol) I think Ryan's jab was on point and that he looked listless at times, but also sharp. Did Rolly shut down the hook? I am skeptical, looked to me like Ryan may have hurt it because he never threw it! But still... in the absence of such proof I have to assume Rolly caused the problem for Ryan.

I mean Rolly was defensively responsible, if not a bit too tentative, and frankly I was impressed.

Not quite ready to crown him the next young super star, but the way I figure, while these other guys have been bickering on social media, avoiding each other, Rolly has been sparring hard in the gym, taken fights, and getting better. He reminds me of Chisora... Always ready to scrap and I would like to see him do well. I also like Garcia and hope he gets things straight as well.

Thoughts? Come on.... I know a few of you at least will tell me I am just looking at this fight and Ryan was weak... Anyone feel like I do? I mean Rolly was stacked for the weight. And he seems able to move with that muscle...
I don't think so. He would always have the puncher's chance but he defeated a man that was damaged goods in there on Friday night.Who was both clean and steroid/PED free.

Which subsequently effected his overall performance. Without doping; Ryan Garcia is a totally different fighter. He never defeated Devin Haney but the steroid/PEDS he took did.

You know I am right and about 95 percent of the members on this forum knows I am right. Had Ryan Garcia been clean with no PEDS in his system against Devin Haney he would have gotten his ass whupped.

Just like Rolly did to him. A doped up Ryan hopped up on steroids is super fast, strong, big and powerful. He is off of them now and he ain't shit! To tell you the truth. Rolly was being set up to fail. He was a cherrypicked safe opponent.

Ryan Garcia only picked him because he believed he was a ruined fighter. Whose skills have diminished and best years were behind him..

Rolly may win a belt against lesser competition but lose to any one decent at 147.

Good on Rolly for snatching the upset. I was telling everyone it was his retirement party. Had no idea Ryan would show up looking timid and scared and get dropped. Guess without the PEDs, Ryan really is as mediocre as everyone been saying. So yeah, Rolly deserved the W and I hope he can score a few nice paychecks before he faces another dude with a pulse and flattens him. I still think his chin is suspect and mostly cracked. Ryan never tried to test it.
