Why would be do that when it's clear that Canelo will not fight him? Canelo is not going to fight anybody that has any kind of chance to beat him. After three years it's time to move on.

I honestly don't think Benavidez will fight the winner, if he even gets past Morrell, who I think he's only fighting now because he's out of options. Canelo ran out of options a while ago, but at least he has enough of a name to bilk the gullible. Benny doesn't have that luxury, and in some cases a loss can make damn sure he never does.
