Fan of Bivol & Beterbiev. Had it 5-5 going into the 11th and scored the last two rounds for Beterbiev. But when i watched it back i had it clearly for Beterbiev. Both are great fighters.

For a guy who isn’t slique Bivol’s defense is as good as it gets. I’d rate it 8/10 or 8.5/10. Artur ko streak was broken
Bivol hook buzzed Artur a couple of times. His legs told on him. Bivol knows his hook is harmful to Artur. That hook hurts Artur in the rematch
Bivol will return to form using his long guard and Soviet Step. He’s better offensively with the Soviet Step and long guard
Artur was gifted the decision because judges subconsciously favor finishing strong and coming forward
Bivol lateral movement gameplan had him fighting too cautiously
Boxing is SUPPOSED to only be scored round by round. Bivol didn’t appreciate OPTICS which bit him in the azz in the form of a gift for his beaten opponent
more like David-David rematch
After hurting Artur, Bivol’s 2nd fight in 2025 will be a lighter match
Let see if Turki can get them to fight 3 times per year

Like Benavidez. But he is honestly hoping for Bivol to win. Biev's style is all wrong for Benavidez. Only a great mover with big power has a shot at beating Biev.
Bivol clearly lost the first fight. He survived, very hard to win a fight running.
Biev is showing signs of aging. That is really the deciding factor in all of it. If Biev comes in sharp and healthy, he isn't getting beat by either guy.

I thought Artur drove the fight and appeared in control 80% of the time.
I can’t hardly wait to see the second one. Should be a great one. I think a close fight will go to Bivol this time. They want a trilogy out of these men.

Benavidez beats both though IMO. He's in his prime right now and in his most comfortable weight class. Now way in hell he's losing to anyone in their late 30's like Bivol and Beter.
Bivol having limited inside fighting is the best thing Benavidez has going for him should they fight
Bivol is quite passive when infighting. Shells up in a high guard waiting for a moment to counter left hook. No shots down the centerline. Bivol throws only hooks inside

far from invincible or godlike skill
Artur is a great fighter but no Mayweather.

Artur’s aura has diminished after his ko streak was broken by a Bivol who was boxing in spurts
More and more guys will see the final bell if Artur continues his career

Nice breakdown. I still have a hard time seeing where Bivol can improve, UNLESS he comes in far better shape.

Good engine in all of Bivol prior fights where he Soviet Stepped
Soviet Step Bivol is better offensively than Lateral Bivol. Being hit is tiring for the opponent!Last edited by SouthpawRight; 12-27-2024, 01:41 PM.4truth likes this.

too many vulnerabilities and has been hurt hard multiple timez

Bena is better chin than Artur

Turns out all of that lateral movement from Bivol burnt more stamina than just sticking to his Soviet Step

That “step” leaves him INLINE to a shot. That’s why he avoided it but I agree. It usually works just not so good for Artur. He wants you in front of him.
Lateral Bivol stops Artur from fully cutting the ring off, but Steppe Bivol is better at fighting on the backfoot
without the Steppe Bivol output while backwards was low. He’d burst with combos in spurts or do the occasional check hook
I’m expecting fight 2 to be explosive and violent compared to 1
Artur starts faster coming forward aggressively throwing caution to the wind
if Artur can regularly get to Bivol’s body early, Artur can make openings for clean overhands to stop Bivol
Bivol comes into the rematch confident knowing three things. His left hook hurt Artur in fight 1, his chin can take a hard counter right from Artur, and that he’s physically stronger than Artur
Bivol has been sitting down on his lower hook on the pads in this training camp
He almost always hooks off of his right hand
Bivol could use left hook to Artur’s body more often this time around
