  • Funny thing is, pre-Zhang Wilder would probably be a bigger problem for Usyk than Fury was

Not easy to avoid Wilder`s hand for 12 rounds.

Ok, Parker did it. But I think that pre-Zhang Wilder gives usyk a harder fight than Fury did.

Now Wilder is done, Zhang ruined him for good.

    Are you kidding?

Stick the man in with ZERO footwork and balance v Usyk.
He almost lost to Ortiz in a Zimmer frame.
It would be an absolute MASSACRE.

    LOL

I've always said the same, and I think most decent big heavyweights beat Wilder.

Maybe not a hard night as such. But possibly a decent chance of winning.

No-one is outboxing Usyk at heavyweight. Wilder wouldn't have tried - he wouldn't even have engaged with him. Wouldn't have won a minute of a round. But might have landed one shot.

I think Wilder was already washed by the Zhang fight. The 5 fights with Fury and Ortiz took everything Wilder had left in him.

people still doing this even though the guy has only ko'd 1 top 10(ring) fighter his entire career. there is no such thing as if wilder hits you once its over! we know thats not true...we knew it wasnt true even when people were saying it based on knocking over tomato cans. now that the evidence has come in and we know his power was completely overrated there is no need to pretend like he was some huge puncher.

best case scenario is he could punch pretty well but he had no skill to deliver it against good fighters so it doesnt matter. if you are saying its possible he ko's usyk, yes it is, but its possible he ko's ali. is it very likely to happen? no. why focus on wilder so much when you know hes so limited? even his best attribute which was power was overrated, doesnt mean he doesn't have power but it clearly was not the same against the better fighters. ortiz was nearly ko'd against ruiz and charles martin, so if you want to say wilder has a it more power than those guys ok great, they arent power punchers. fury has been down 5-6 times in his career so knocking him down isnt super special either. its nice but it doesnt signal other worldly power. what would signal great power would be ko'ing a bunch of good fighters, he didnt do that. people said he could, but he couldnt. ortiz is a fine win but a 40 year old guy who is out of shape is the only notable guy he ko'd? come on now

Yeah I have to agree, it would have been a good style match up but unfortunately for Wilder, he had a very incompetent team and stu pid management backing him (too many unnecessary beatings).

I would like to see Wilder rebuild and try his hand at Bridgerweight and fight Usyk there.

Wilder and Fury both somewhat overrated. Maybe 3rd and 4th best heavyweights of the era, after Usyk and AJ. Fury constantly underperformed against the shared opponents with AJ. Wladimir, Ngannou, Wallin,Whyte. AJ knocked them all out, Fury only KO'D one. Stats kinda speak for themselves. So i think it's unlikely any version of Wilder beats Usyk, barring a lucky punch. Usyk is a level or two above Fury, and Fury is a level or two above Wilder. But Fury really isn't that good, slight hype job.

Wilder has absolutely zero chance of getting himself in any sort of position to throw a sleeper punch much less land it against Usyk.

Honestly you could probably just see about 10 seconds of both moving in a ring from the knees down and be able to put the mortgage on Usyk absolutely rinsing Wilder.

What is absolutely crazy to me is that Wilder won a bronze medal at the Olympics.

How did he do that? Genuinely.

No way is AJ second best of this era.

He got battered and quit vs Ruiz and battered and sparked by Dubois.

And that was a prime, confident AJ against Dubois.

Hrgovic is better than AJ that's for sure

                  Zhang? Bakole? Kabayel? Quite possibly.

AJ might not be top 5 of this era

Fury may not be number 2 as well I'll grant you that, it's very hard to rate this era outside of Usyk because the so many fights haven't happened.

I think there's every chance a Bakole or Kabayel gives Usyk his toughest fight at heavyweight.

The Clone of Wilder that lost to Parker and Zhang gives Usyk a good fight, the real Wilder, pre those fights, destroys him. Nash out - His Excellency
