To truly look at this question intelligently time has to pass. Historical reflection cures the Near sight that makes one look at a tree and not see the forest. I will say that Canelo was lucky enough to fight Mayweather and Triple G. One can look at these fights more carefully, and eventually compare them to other super middleweights like Ward and those fighters that hover around the weight class, but are not contained by it, like Hopkins.

Canelo is getting a lot of flack right now, prior to people had started to compare him to the greatest fighters in that weight class... somewhere in between lies the truth... the Middle Path!

The likes of Joe Calzaghe, Sven Ottke and James Toney are in the Top 10 so surely you'd think Canelo would be in the Top 10.

He's top 10 certainly, the division is only about 40 years old. Jones kills him, Jones kills em all, imo. Then Calzhge, then Ward, Kessler probably, you got Eubank and Benn. Kessler Eubank and Benn are close, I think but definitely favor those first 3 Jones, Calzaghe and Ward over Canelo, who else?

Let’s not forget about Carl Froch. Who at least took risks by fighting and defeating the very best opponents and competition of his era. In addition, to not ducking or cherry picking anyone.
