Money. Crawford is an older fighter who is focused on earning as much money as possible before his career in Boxing is over.

Terrence Crawford is aiming up, and not down 'All of Crawford's nearest competitors at 147 to 154 pounds, are below him in terms of greatness and career feats'.

It is extremely straight forward and easy to understand, why he has a ambition to fight Canelo Alvarez.

The actual match up, is not really a legitimate fight for Canelo Alvarez at this point 'Because Terrence Crawford although he is a great fighter within this era. Crawford needs to prove himself more in the 154 pound division, before he even shows up as a serious threat on the radar of Canelo Alvarez'.

Right now the universal perception of Terrence Crawford is that he is a great fighter skill for skill, but he is not on the level of Floyd Mayweather Junior or Manny Pacquiao,

Note: In the latter part of Floyd Mayweather Junior's career, people were so focus on seeing Mayweather Junior get beaten 'That there was calls for Floyd Mayweather Junior to fight Gennady Golovkin at 160 pounds, at his absolute peak'.

Just think about that for a second? There was a mass of people within the boxing community, who were calling for that fight.

In comparison in regards to Terrence Crawford 'Whether it be folk within the boxing community, or sports media. Those people don't like the idea of Terrence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez'.

This is the contrast of the standards and level to which people held Floyd Mayweather Junior to 'Compared to other fighters'.

To conclude: Terrence Crawford has reached a point in his career, were he is not really going to gain much by beating his nearest competition 'The only thing he will be increasing his a statistic on his resume, his level of greatness will in my opinion not really be increasing'.

Therefore I think as a competitor, and one of the best pound for pound fighters of his generation 'This behaviour and recent ambition of his is understandable and warranted. Terrence Crawford is aiming up, he wants to become greater as a fighter. In order to achieve this feat, he has to take on a challenge that many people believe is greater than his ability'.

Muhammad Ali entered into this zone numerous times in his career, that is why in part he is perceived as great fighter.

It is in that competitive zone of uncertainty, potential peril or victory 'That is were fighters are tested the most, it is were they become the most proven and greatness is increased' etc.

He fights once a year, remember?

It's not necessarily clout chasing. Most important, as already theorized, is it shuts down the curious onlookers who bugs him asking about Boots Ennis, and now new prospects like Tzsyu, Fundora, Ortiz, and others. They're not asking about Boots anymore, do they? So it's working. All he has to say is he's going after Canelo. End of story.
Yeah, I don't believe he's really that obsessed with or interested in Canelo.
When asked, he always makes sure he says, "If the money is right."
I'll believe it he starts talking to the Canelo management team. If not...
Or he can simply climb up in the ring in Alvarez's next fight in the post fight interview.

I never Posted or made a Boxingscene comment about Ryan Garcia ever?
          (Not interested)
Unlike You that accuse Canelo & Tyson Fury being "Dirty & Juicing"
I simply You asked a question..............
Like a kid you then asked me a question...makes no sense
          A polite
Yes or No was what i had expected
          But hey it's okay
Maybe You think Parker & Zhang are dirty also
          Lol
Let's see how your Fav Fighter Wilder does in his next fight
The only reason why I asked you about Ryan Garcia because you asked me about Tyson Fury’s juicing; Of which of whom I never ever mentioned his name.

I agree. Can we just stick to the hypothesis please on whether or not Canelo is still juicing or perhaps you don’t want to know because that question frightens you?

Or could it be that tribalist race based fans like yourself; Just don’t care? Fighting on a level playing field and whether or not your favorite fighter is clean or still doping.

Well it’s something that you really never gave a good damn about. Just so long as the black guy loses and your
favorite fighter keeps winning. I got’cha!

People need to make a clear distinction on whether one wants a certain fight for money or someone who genuinely wants it for legacy believing he could really win, with the assumption that he'll get paid well, anyways. Or wanting the fight not only because of the guaranteed compensation but also the value that would be added to his stock in his subsequent fights. In other words, it's not only about the retirement check, but an addition to his investment. Which is long-term.
Berlanga, not necessarily the best example, never mentioned anything about money. Virtually all of Canelo's past opponents were offered the fight and they took it. Probably with the exception of Golovkin. Again no mention of the money part. Our friend Jermell Charlo took the offer and we never heard he wanted specific amount of dollars. Of course, Crawford's case is different. But what exactly does the fight do to Canelo? Why would anyone expect him to chase Crawford?
So what is Crawford waiting for? Why rely on Turki to make the fight, why not talk directly to Canelo people?

              Others want them both.
Caleb Plant bargained hard for it. He was holding a title back then.
Yeah, I don't know why people keep propping up Crawford for just mentioning Canelo's name.
Alvarez already made it clear to Turki that he, Canelo, is running the show. Not the Saudi royal.
And if Turki wants him to fight Crawford, he should pay him $150 million. Meaning, he's not interested.

Only fight Crawford can have under Turki's promotion is vs Ortiz or Tszyu.

He probably is. Bud seems to genuinely not be interested in ennis. But nelo, yes. It's a dangerous fight so bud wants to be rewarded

Both Tyson Fury and Canelo Alvarez have both popped dirty for banned steroid substances: (Nandrolone and Clenbuterol).

In addition, they both used the cross contamination excuse. Tyson Fury’s blamed his dirty testing on ingesting Wild boar meat.

While Saul Alvarez blamed his dirty testing on eating contaminated beef.

Yes, I called you a race based tribalist because it just so happens that every time a non-black fighter cheats and pops dirty for doping against a black fighter you always defend them.

From Tyson Fury all the way to Ryan Garcia. It’s ok though. Just so long as the black guy loses.

Let’s reverse it. If a black fighter cheats or pops dirty for doping against a non black fighter so that he can win.

You same race based tribalist anti-black boxing fans would have a meltdown of the likes we’ve never seen before.
