Canelo is making plenty of dough fighting the Mungia's and Berlanga's of the world. What is the incentive to fight Crawford? What weight would it be? At 168, it's a mismatch. If Crawford easily destroyed Madrimov, it would have been one thing but he struggled and Madrimov is no Canelo. Not as this stage of his career, anyway. I am a big Crawford Guy but 168 is too high of a mountain to climb.

Which make sense. If TC wants it, then talk to Canelo about it, not the media.
He's very high profile in this sport, so naturally he's being hounded by curious people everywhere he goes who keep asking him who he wants to fight next. The Canelo fight is his prepared or ready-made talking point, which is his way of saying no I don't want Ortiz, Fundora, Tszyu or any of these prime, young fighters. These are not the same Danny Garcia or Thurman types he used to call out in his younger days.

I have to wonder how much he would want for any of these non-Canelo fights, Tzyu, Ortiz, Fundora.
Would he ask less on the Fundora fight, which presumably is the least attractive fight for fans, thus cheaper for investors?
Would he get motivated just for the title alone? What are the answers to these? Some people talk as if he still has plenty of fights left.

Can't imagine how much money he would demand for the Fundora fight let alone the Canelo one.

Crawford didn’t defend any of his titles tho. He doesn’t fight mandatories

Yeah, that one too. The Mexican superstar has already annoyingly made it clear he's the boss when it comes to fights involving him. Not Turki, Hearn or anyone not allied with him or PBC. We don't know why Crawford is putting all his eggs in the Turki basket. If he wants Canelo, then talk to Canelo. That's how he can prove he's really serious about it.

Despite Crawford's unexpectedly difficult fight with Madrimov, I still think a fight with Canelo is one he could win. For one thing Crawford is going to be sky high and Canelo hasn't looked particularly inspired since his drubbing at the hands of Bivol.

I still like the fight and hope Crawford gets the opportunity.

We can all spin this any way that we want. The truth of the matter is that outside of a fight with Benavidez, Canelo can't make more money against any other opponent, except Bud. Bud can't make more money against any other opponent except Canelo.

Canelo claims that it would be easy money against Bud. Now if that was the case, he would push for that fight.

Canelo does not challenge himself these days. He is in the making money business....not the "risk losing it all" business.

There is a reason why he carefully selects his opponents. He made a mistake already win he picked Bivol as an opponent. He can't afford to make another mistake......which is why he is avoiding Bud.

Picking Bud does not make economic sense for Canelo in the long run......But I see their matchup as being a Fight of the Year caliber of fight.

We'll only see this fight if he is willing to challenge himself, like Bud is.
