The hate on Shakur and Tank isn’t? Come on. I haven’t even mentioned Floyd or Haymon.

He also isn’t American and wasn’t doing the amount of us tv interviews Shakur is.

We agree. As I said about Shakur here.

    • if u want to look at rivalries look internally to the states, for example, the patriots, i dont think they are that popular at times as they have been winning a lot etc & their fans might have got a bit arrogant annoying etc which triggered other fans of other teams in other states, people then like to see them lose, its not to be taken too personal, just human nature i might say, same in the uk actually a lot of teams like to beat england as they are the big dog on the block, its the same principle whereever u go a lot of the time

GGG was ducked by alot of guys and didn't fight a who's who of the sport, but that said, he stopped everyone and made for great fights. He has been derided by many here for his resume. But do you really think Shakur is being called boring if he had KO'd his last two opponents? No, no way.

Loma knocked damn good fighters out and made others quit. He just beat Kambosis to a pulp and stopped him. Shakur pointed out one fight for Loma if I remember right. This has become a career thing with Shakur....he has the skills and has the pop. He isn't a killer and thus he isn't big fan favorite.

The argument is just ridiculous on it's face when you look at Crawford, or Mbilli, or look at black fighters from the past. Black dudes rule the sport as far as P4P. No one cares that they are black....they are men who fought valiantly and they are universally loved.

Shakur goes in and ko's a few fighters, or at least doesn't coast to a UD with little effort to hurt the guy, and he is loved.

No one liked Malignaggi, or Billy Joe Saunders, or any other white fighter who never stopped anyone either. The fact that Shakur even brought this up is honestly embarrassing for him.
Again a point I made in my original post.

Again as I said, all anyone cared about was he got KO’s. The opponent quality was never mentioned.

Loma shouldn’t have been in with Kambosos but in with Shakur- the best fighting the best. Not the best fighting a guy who Haney beat 2x very easily.

I don’t think we are disagreeing in general. I think we are disagreeing just on the popularity of GGG and Loma on this site.

Yes, a point I made earlier.

It’s a point Bhop made years ago. So I think there is merit to it. As I said, I don’t think in this case it applies to Shakur.

As for my other post to you, how this site jumped on Matthysse until Danny torched him was just unbelievable. Dude was never as good as posters suggested.

Lot of posters have no idea who he is. Sort of like Usyk when he was moving through cruiser.

I am surprised but glad at the same time because there isn’t the toxicity.

Naw. We’re talking about this site, not outside of it.

The most popular boxers are almost never Americans on this site. Which makes sense given it’s a world wide site.

But champion4ever makes a good point, this site wants the Floyd’s , Roy’s and Tank’s to lose badly.

thats the issue, some peoples toxicity is other peoples good fun and rivalry, u need to have a weight class with variety in it from different regions countries to trigger things off, its not actually a bad thing, its good for ratings and viewings, u have to have guys that people want to see beat at the end of the day, if its all respectful and nice it wouldnt be boxing, it happens in all sports in all regions actually, its human nature

I think some of these posters forget that boxing is a spectator sport first and foremost, it's meant to entertain fans, not put them to sleep with clinching, running, and winning on jabs and the occasional right hand pot shot. If a fighter is content to do just enough to win a decision he deserves all of the criticism he gets, especially if it's a PPV fight.

How many boring non-black fighters are there in the sport today? Even going back 25 years, how many were there? Wladmir Klitschko was often accused of being boring with his jab and grab upright style. I don't recall very many white, Hispanic or Asian fighters who were in fact boring. The truth is, Ward and Hopkins were dirty fighters who clinched and wrestled through their fights. Lara, Rigo, Winky, Floyd, Shakur, are all content to glide their way to a decision win.

Now look at great black fighters like Hagler, Hearns, Jones, Terry Norris, Mosley, GRJ, Crawford, who put on boxing clinics and give the fans what they came to see. Fans appreciate bravery, skill, and fighters who challenge themselves against the very best while trying for a knockout.
                Well-stated and reasoned.

thats interesting, the most popular boxers are almost never american on this site but this site wants the floyds roys and tanks to lose, well if what u are saying is true then that makes sense as they are not the most popular boxers on the site

a lot of fans want the guys who get the most hype to lose & if they have their 0 & protect it very very hard it gets even worse, lots wanted ggg and loma to lose as well i think, that was clear to me anyway

if u do a lot of boasting and u have fans who claim u are the next best thing since sliced bread etc u can expect some crap

That you call it protect it very very hard is the exact thing posters are talking about.

Fighting bums is protecting the 0 as well, you guys just don’t call it that. Like Andrade. If an American avoided Andrade like GgG did he get killed and called a ducker.

Loma lost his 2nd fight so I don’t think that was the case.

Yeah but it doesn’t always work like that. Another poster mentioned how when Loma showboats it’s celebrated. When Tank does it it’s criticized.
