loma always wanted the belts and he went for them, shakur had a chance for all the belts v haney and he didnt go for it, shakur plays it very safe in the ring at times and does a lot of whining about almost everything, it will turn people off, he got offered a 3 mil a fight contract & some fans walk out of his fights ive seen, its the way things are, some like shakur a lot and appreciate his style and winning etc, its not like he has no fans at all, he does have fans but hes also an easy target at times with the way he goes on
I’m saying why you giving Loma a pass. He lost.

Um he asked to be emeritus right before Haney won the eliminator and gave up the belt. That action doesn’t suggest he wanted the belts.

Shakur didn’t. He wanted the Loma fight given he and others said Loma beat Haney.

I have discussed the fact his in ring performances is the issue.

Shakur also makes a fair point that Bob wasn’t making the fights he should’ve made earlier on, like Valdez.

Shakur has ever right to be upset he didn’t get to fight Loma, but that doesn’t excuse how he fought this last dude the way he did.

Again, I don’t think we disagree regarding Shakur. We disagree on some of the tangential things we started to discuss.

Yeah Loma always gets a bit of a pass when he loses.
i had a look at this 'quasi pro' aiba thing that he was in, as far as i can see all those opponents were amateurs & went on to have poor if any pro records at all

as far as i remember he went for a teo unification fight which was a much more dangerous fight than haney at the time, in fact given their fight years later when haney said loma better watch out im much better now than back then, maybe haney was not even ready for that fight

Again, he had them before he turned pro. He didn’t go straight from the amateurs.

Prior to turning professional, Lomachenko competed in the lightweight division of the World Series of Boxing (WSB) from January to May 2013. Some outlets would later claim that the six fights Lomachenko had in this tournament should have counted towards his professional record, due to WSB being professional boxing by law, with no headgear and rounds being scored using the ten-point must systemaccording to the regulations set by professional boxing commissions that license the boxers, promoters, and officials.[22]

You obviously remember him dropping the belt because I believe you criticized how Haney got it. The email champ was I believe the label.

Again, dropping a belt to me doesn’t suggest you want all the belts.

Don’t defend the belt dropping like this. Be as brutally honest as you are about Shakur.

please have a look at his opponents at the competition they are listed down the above page and try not to laugh, especially the last guy, they were all amateur boxers as far as i can see, at least 2 of them never even turned pro at any stage and the rest did years later

Great question. There are at least 2 principle ways, perhaps more. One: many young black boxers face the same kind of bigotry that other young black males face. Two: most come from impoverished single-parent backgrounds in crime-ridden neighborhoods that have terrible public schools, and every other disadvantage associated with poverty. This holds for most non-black kids who grow up in similar situations.
