I knew this one was going to bring out the alt right/4chan crowd lol….but while that may be true Shakur, you have not and are not helping your career by winning “safely” each and every time out. You simply have to take more chances if you want positive recognition

I'm Black and dude is an excellent boxer.
The medicine Shakur needs is when he fights a gifted puncher, like Davis, and gets the Haney treatment. When he realizes that he better develop some skills to hit hard enough not to rely only on defensive actions. When he looks at film of Whitaker and mayweather and realizes that both guys could punch and make an impact.
Most people who understand boxing understand that technically speaking? Shakur has fought nobody really... Nobody who could test him. Even Tank has a better resume.
So either people are wrong and poor Shakur is a boxing prodigy... able to keep anyone away even though his style is boring... Or a fight against a real puncher will show him he better get some chops. I know which possibility here I think is true lol!

If you're boring , I'll still watch you because I love the fights , but I'm not paying for it and will complain that you are boring. Shakur , if everyone is saying that you are boring them , maybe you should listen to what they're saying and change up. Or stay boring and take the criticism like a man. Nobody has ever died from words. If you want to be a big star , I'll tell you how to do that. It starts with GIVING THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT. If you're not willing to do that , that's fine , but why whine about it when it's your choice to be lame ? You make your choice and the fans make theirs. Arguing that black people should stick by you just because you are black is a cop out. How about you give them a reason to support you ? Like giving them the excitement that they pay their hard earned money for . I don't think that many fans are going to give you extra credit for having the same skin color.
We are often our own worst enemy, and one of the hardest battles in life can be self-acceptance.
Shakur has a gift that so few would ever understand, let alone possess, and one that is making him richer than he will ever need to be.
You do you, Shakur. Don't worry what anyone says. Enjoy your life. Make peace with yourself and who you are.
You are boring. OK. Who gives a fcuk?
It's a beautiful thing if you do it right.

It takes a while for a young person to truly understand from a deep abiding connection to experience, that they are not the center of the Universe and, that they are mortal and can be shot, etc. I say this because Shakur and the other young guys who are boxing get a lot more attention, hence the problems stated are worse!

It's also been suggested that he doesn't have a solid resume. Shakur Stevenson hits hard enough; and his power is increasing as he grows into a man. He has also fought solid opposition and he's won decisively. Two opponents who come to mind are James Herring and Oscar Valdez. Shakur took Herring's belt by TKO, and knocked down and beat an undefeated Valdez (who was 30 and 0 at the time), by unanimous decision.
Shakur is dangerous and respected enough in the boxing community in that quite a few boxers avoid him - Loma is one. Folks are calling for Shakur to face Zepeda. I think Shakur outclasses him - so Golden Boy probably won't make that fight.
I dunno is anyone realize this but: Shakur Stevenson's opponents have a collective average of less than 2 losses in their careers. That's impressive. If this is boring, I'm lost as a boxing fan that loves this sweet science. He beats his opponents and they're legitimately decent boxers. The only boxer who I believe can be a nightmare is Tank, and I still give Shakur a chance. Shakur is talented and a sharp boxer.
BUT I call it the Vanilla Ice bandwagon syndrome. We have a lot of followers who allow others to formulate their opinions. 7 million people bought the Vanilla Ice album because they were told he could rap. A lot of people were told that Shakur is boring and they believe it. They'll come a day where a lot of people will say he's exciting, because they are going to be told this, and they're going to believe it....But.....he's not going to change much. He'll be the same boxer......but....It's going to be the Vanilla Ice Syndrome at workLast edited by Lefty0616; 08-15-2024, 05:19 PM.
