Daggum is right to disparage Ortiz. How that guy got a top 10 ranking and kept it for so long on the strength of one world class win, over Bryant Jennings, back in 2015, is something I will never understand.

Would he have been competitive with AJ? Possibly, but we never got to find out because he blatantly ducked the fight when it was offered to him for a career high $7million purse, after he put himself forward as a replacement for Big Pharma Miller then mysteriously disappeared when Eddie Hearn called his bluff.

Rankings lol. Forget rankings. Look at the quality of the fighters. Ortiz was undefeated. He beat a lot of fighters like Martin who were thought to me good. He fought well against Wilder. I'm not a big fan of AJ but Fury should never have been ranked above him for only beating Wilder twice and Dillon Whyte the last 7 years. Oh a Derek Chisora for a 3rd time.

Joyce, Parker, Wilder, Zhang, Dubois and Hrgovic have been fighting something of a mini tournament over the last 18 months, yet AJ somehow gets a pass for not being involved whilst all the other top contenders are squaring off.
