In saying that, I'll be picking Usyk, chiefly because he is able to land the big punch to change a bout, whereas it doesn't seem like Fury has that (save for impactful body shots).
I would say Fury attempted to outbox Usyk but failed. It worked for a few rounds but once he got clipped in the 8th, all that went out the window. Usyk made the adjustment to Fury's tactics as a boxer and took him to school from round 8 on. Fury had enough power to KO Wilder, Whyte and others, why wouldn't he have the power to hurt Usyk who is an undersized heavyweight? He just couldn't stay consistent for 12 rounds. Usyk is the better boxer. If he were Fury's size, Fury would be KO'd in 6.

Wilder is a 210 lb stretched out bean pole
Whyte is a glass jawed joke.

usyk has a way better chin than them . Also way better defence.

u think usyk is gonna lay on the ropes by round 5 and let fury tee off!?? Lol

It also brings up a concept in fighting that some fighting men understand... "fighting strong." The ability to show physical aggression and strength regardless of size. Usyk happens to be strong and aggressive when he fights, which people overlook because of his technical skills.

How many rounds did you give Fury and which were those? Truthfully, I cannot see any way a person could have scored more than 4 rounds to Fury. Fury briefly buzzed Usyk a couple times in rounds 5-6, but the effect of these shots has been vastly overstated by Fury fans and the media. As we all saw, Fury was unable to press and take advantage of these very brief moments because Usyk really wasn't that hurt by these shots. Usyk smartly circled out and then within a few moments was back on the front foot pressing - as he did for 12 rounds. It's absolutely baffling to me how anyone believed that Usyk was about to go or that Fury was on his way to winning this fight. I watched this full fight four times and saw Fury win 3 rounds.

I do not think Fury was "winning" I do think the fight was pretty even, Fury had just had a good stretch, but the visuals of when Usyk had his success tended to make it look like he had much more success than when Fury was successful. The last rounds from mid tenth were imo slightly skewed towards Usyk because they both had moments, but Usyk seemed to cause more damage.

The question is if he has it in him to stick to a modified plan consistently. The third Wilder fight will be more than three years before the rematch, and after that he's weathered Ngannou and Usyk; that body is vulnerable. Usyk is no Wilder, he has a much higher boxing IQ and is much more skillful, also.
Fury's work was equally devastating but it did not look as spectacular as that 9th round fiasco. Fury was successful when he kept Usyk on the perimeter with his feints, jab and "Irish Cooney hook" lol, that punch where Fury swings the hook across most of the ring and lands to the body. I think Fury is going to look for a way to incorporate a big shot... But he has to stop giving Usyk real estate by moving too much.

Exactly, because he's a better boxer than both of them with better footwork, timing, reflexes, accuracy, etc. That's why I said Usyk outboxed Fury.
Furthermore, Fury never really tried to pressure Usyk a la Kronk style. Whether he never had the opportunity against Usyk or his plan was to use his height and reach and stay on the outside, it never happened in the first fight.
I was also surprised he didn't try to lean and hold more than he did to weigh Usyk down and sap some of his energy. If Fury has a chance in the rematch, he needs to manhandle Usyk, not let him establish his rhythm. Fury isn't getting any younger or faster and if the fight does happen in December, what kind of shape will he be in?
