Look we all know Canelo doesn’t want the benavidez smoke. There is no reason that fight can’t be made and I do think Canelo, who is obviously a hall of famer but will always have this cloud hanging over his head if he doesn’t fight benavidez. He should just retire rather than an avoid him.

i think Nelo thought becomeing undisputed at 168 was the main aim, mission accomplished. Fighting Benevidez seems too much like hard work right now. Benevidez is Nelos mandatory, so Nelo should defend. But who else in history has avoided mandatories but legacy is fine?

For Reynoso to continually make comments on his fighter's behalf about Benavidez shows that there is something up. He clearly knows that the boxing public wants to see this fight. Deep down Reynoso knows that Canelo could take a beating.
What I think should happen is that Canelo should ban Reynoso from making public statements on his behalf. Tell him to STFU. Make the fight with Benavidez or give up all of the belts. The longer Canelo waits to take his beating the more it hurts him and his legacy because Canelo is the older fighter. His skills are on a decline.Gaydrien Boner likes this.

Not because of his age (because he's older of course), but because David has just about outgrown the SMW. It is far better for Canelo to take on Benavidez now than as a LHW because David will be even stronger at that weight.

Legacies are in fact judged by who a fighter doesn't fight, especially if there is a long list of deserving opponents who got passed over. If he avoids Benavidez, Munguia, Berlanga, Crawford, Beterbiev, and Bivol at 168 for his titles, history will not be kind. He already has some controversial/questionable wins on his record, avoiding Benavidez won't help his legacy.

Canelo, Reynoso and his fans have no shame what-so-ever. They're cowards of the worst kind. It's degrading. We know exaactly what stipulations need to be in place for the fight to happen. It's the same stipulations and conditions his career is littered with. A true representation considering all Mexicans are at it.

As i've said all along, he's waiting for Benavidez to badly struggle on the scales and look poor in the ring. Then he'll wait for a while to really let it set in. Then he'll go after it.
He's a fraud.

Nelo proved himself multiple times
Can Benny say that ?
As for claiming Canelo proved himself plenty of times... When did that happen? Give me these fights where no sabotaging the opponent took place? Give me a fight without corruption being at play? Give me a fight where the opponent wasn't shot, too small or inactive to gain the advantages he loves?
You can't. That is his career.
