ggg didnt even have an interim belt till late 2010 so when would these fights have happened? pavlik lost to martinez in early 2010 before ggg won that interim belt and pavlik moved up after that. taylors heyday was 2006-2007 but then pavlik beat him and he moved up in 2008. hopkins left the division in 2006. there was no way those fights ever could have happened even if ggg had been fighting in the states. when martinez was #1 and ggg was in the states martinez still didnt want to fight him so there goes your "if he was only in the states theory" its just not that easy to make figths as we all know. ggg beat 12 top 10 fighters at mw and was scheduled to fight guys like pirog who martinez wanted no part of, he also sent career high offers to guys like quillin and saunders but they turned him down. this isnt a guy who was avoiding people or waiting for people to lose. you had to make up an entire anachronistic timeline just to make that claim but it makes no sense.

That's a tough one for me. DLH was a surgeon in there but I think Canelo's size could've been a factor. At 147, I would have to go with DLH, at 154, Canelo was better and would win a decision.

GGG holds the record for championship defenses in the MW division. Go check his record in Boxrec or wherever. He fought the top contenders of his era and, significantly, KO'd almost all of them. Regardless of the official decisions, most objective fans agree that GGG gave at least as good as he got in 2/3 matches against a fighter who is presently regarded as the best of his era. Golovkin is an undeniable talent for fans who know the sport. To suggest that he ducked inferior fighters for fear of losing is Sid-Knee level delusion.

You've repeatedly claimed that GGG remained at home, or in Europe, while he waited for the middleweight 'Fab Four' (Pavlik, Taylor, Martinez & Williams) to retire, but why did he have to live or train in the US to fight any of those guys? The reason he didn't get those fights wasn't because he didn't live in the U.S. but rather because he had poor connections. You seem to know very little about Golovkin's career. To start, coming up in a Central Asian/Eastern European nation, Golovkin had an extensive amateur career (345-5) and didn't turn pro till he was 24. When he did turn pro, he signed with Germany-based Universum which was a player in Europe, but little more. Unfortunately for Golovkin, Universum failed to even match him up with their own MW titlists, Felix Sturn and Sebastian Zbik, so Golovkin ditched them when his contract expired and sought new management and trainers in the US. GGG made his US debut with his new team in 2012 at the age of 30.

By that time, Kelly Pavlik (as you note) was already retired, but if you followed his career, the final nail had already been nailed in Pavlik's career two years earlier by Sergio Martinez, and he retired on a whimper fighting nobodies.

• Btw, what 'pedigree' is this that you speak of with Kelly Pavlik? His entire career (amateur and pro) is built off beating one guy. He was a good fighter but he has no real boxing pedigree, especially when you're comparing him to someone like GGG.

Sergio Martinez was the only one of your Fab Four who was still an elite fighter when GGG emerged on the scene. Martinez didn't duck GGG because GGG had no real name recognition until his 2012 HBO fight, but by that point, Martinez' career was winding down as well. Had GGG gotten the opportunity to fight Martinez then, he would have buried him, far worse than tiny Miguel Cotto did.

I’m not saying that I’m just saying that ggg has never fought any real competition. You can hate on Pavlik all you want his strength of schedule was much stronger than golovkins. We don’t know how good ggg could’ve been or what he could’ve done. We saw him fight against one elite opponent his own weight his whole career and went 0-2-1 against him. Every great MW champion moves up in weight every single one of the greats. GGG ain’t do that. His supporters are delusional. 0 elite wins despite some opinions. 1 weight world champion. 0 wins over future HOFamers. Only 1 future HOFamer even faced. I don’t know why u making excuses. Facts are facts. You know…even if he felt he was robbed against canelo and many do…why did he not fight ANYONE else? other great fighters HOFamers have worse robberies on their records and it’s less of a big deal because they faced other HOFamers and beat them so there’s no question of their greatness but ggg never did that. GGG will be a 1st ballot HOF entrant; something Kelly Pavik could only dream about in a drunken stupor. Check back here and hit the Like button in 4 years when GGG gets inducted. If you could name one fighter in GGG's weight class who he avoided then your argument would have some weight, but it doesn't. Instead, you have to resort to some other metric (he never fought at LHW or boiled down to WW) to discredit him. GGG faced and KO'd one top 10 MW contender after another, over an 8 year span. He is the most dominant MW of his era, and there is no close second.
