He literally went lifenor death with Sergei dervychenko man. Pavliks run was short and sweet and it was at a time when boxers took risks to fight the best. Something lil g never did. 60 year old hopkins was better than anything GGG was his entire career. His win over Pavlik was more impressive than any win in GGGs career. Pavliks win over taylor was more impressive than anything in GGGs career. I will say GGG was great at crushing cans. The Steve rolls and vanes matirosyans dominc wade martin murray…the list of cans he crushed was impressive but that’s all he did mate. I used to be a big fan I thought golovkin was gonna do big things in the sport. But he didn’t do $h!t unfortunately. His best win was kell Brook l. A guy he brought up 2 weight classes to fight. To think ggg would KO Martinez Pavlik and Williams is just asinine. He never came close to KOing anyone at the world championship level at his own weight and those 3 were all elite. Much better fighters than kell Brook who was putting a beating on him before the weight difference took it’s toll. Pavlik vs GGG was always a dream fight for me. Would have been absolute fireworks. I always will take Pavlik to win tho based on their resumes and watching them fight. There’s a reason GGG didn’t dare to be great and move up in weight for big fights. Also Andre ward was one weight class above him at SMW. He had no problem chasing canelo up at SMW to fight him. Notice how he refuses to fight ANYONE else at that weight? Cause they would savage him..benevidez and morrel Jr would hospitalize any version of GGG.
Look, you seem like a nice boy, so I want to help you. It seems to me that you have expressed some well-reasoned opinions in the past, so I'm going to assume that something unusual is happening to you today; something medical. In no world or alternate reality does Kelly Pavlik compare favorably to Triple F.U.C.KING G. Your blood sugar is low, some major system is failing in your body and your mind is breaking down.

This is the Internet. You enjoy anonymity here and can spew inanities all day long with impunity if you like, but it's undignified for a grown man to do that. Being the benevolent observer that I am, I want to spare you the embarrassment and public ridicule of being that guy who walked into a bar and said Gennadiy Golovkin hid in a cave in Kazahkstan waiting for Kelly Pavlik to retire. That doesn't have to be your life.

Lol u throwing insults out that’s childish. It’s just an opinion it really doesn’t mean much mate. I noticed through all your deflections you failed to answer my question.who has ggg EVER BEAT? Who has he ever knocked out close to a pedigree and accomplishment as Pavlik? I’ll wait. And GGG definitely waited to come over to to the Us until the best fighters his own true weight cleared out. If that’s not true then he would’ve come over years before and fought Pavlik or bhop or Taylor and we wouldn’t have this debate. He came over and started trying to fight natural 147 lb pound guys like cotto and mayweather while beating up bums like matirosyan. You seem like a nice chap so I won’t call u names like u resort to I’ll just say your GGG fantasy doesn’t align with reality. You’re of the “ggg won the 1st 2 fights with canelo” crew. Fantasy. Don’t believe me? Go check their records. Same as people think hagler beat leaonard. That’s opinions. Facts are on paper and recorded. When u learn the difference you’ll be a big boy lol

Oscar would have jabbed and moved Canelos ears off. Canelo is easily controlled by a great jab, we have seen that many times and prime Oscar floated around the ring and had the power to make Canelo respect him.

Do you know what a TKO is? You can be stopped without even being visible hurt and still standing up fine. GGGs power was overrated anyway, the best guy he ever stopped was Lemuiex.

Oscar could def stop a gassed out Canelo by just unloading on him like he did with Gatti and the ref steps in. Its a legit possibility.

Oscar only ever lost to prime hall of famers and couple of ATGs.
Most of them were razor sharp decisions.

Oscar has never really been dominated with the exception of his retirement fight against a once in a generation peculiar ATG.

I can't say the same for Canelo.

With that being said, Oscar beats any version of Canelo at 154.

GGG holds the record for championship defenses in the MW division. Go check his record in Boxrec or wherever. He fought the top contenders of his era and, significantly, KO'd almost all of them. Regardless of the official decisions, most objective fans agree that GGG gave at least as good as he got in 2/3 matches against a fighter who is presently regarded as the best of his era. Golovkin is an undeniable talent for fans who know the sport. To suggest that he ducked inferior fighters for fear of losing is Sid-Knee level delusion.

You've repeatedly claimed that GGG remained at home, or in Europe, while he waited for the middleweight 'Fab Four' (Pavlik, Taylor, Martinez & Williams) to retire, but why did he have to live or train in the US to fight any of those guys? The reason he didn't get those fights wasn't because he didn't live in the U.S. but rather because he had poor connections. You seem to know very little about Golovkin's career. To start, coming up in a Central Asian/Eastern European nation, Golovkin had an extensive amateur career (345-5) and didn't turn pro till he was 24. When he did turn pro, he signed with Germany-based Universum which was a player in Europe, but little more. Unfortunately for Golovkin, Universum failed to even match him up with their own MW titlists, Felix Sturn and Sebastian Zbik, so Golovkin ditched them when his contract expired and sought new management and trainers in the US. GGG made his US debut with his new team in 2012 at the age of 30.

By that time, Kelly Pavlik (as you note) was already retired, but if you followed his career, the final nail had already been nailed in Pavlik's career two years earlier by Sergio Martinez, and he retired on a whimper fighting nobodies.
                  • Btw, what 'pedigree' is this that you speak of with Kelly Pavlik? His entire career (amateur and pro) is built off beating one guy. He was a good fighter but he has no real boxing pedigree, especially when you're comparing him to someone like GGG.

Paul Williams was also out of the picture, having been paralyzed in his accident.

Jermain Taylor was still technically fighting in 2012, but his days as an elite fighter were well past him after crashing out of the the SMW Super Six tournament three years prior.

Sergio Martinez was the only one of your Fab Four who was still an elite fighter when GGG emerged on the scene. Martinez didn't duck GGG because GGG had no real name recognition until his 2012 HBO fight, but by that point, Martinez' career was winding down as well. Had GGG gotten the opportunity to fight Martinez then, he would have buried him, far worse than tiny Miguel Cotto did.

Anyway, this is getting long-winded again. My general point is that people like you can make up any old narrative you want to discredit fighters you don't like, with no regard or accounting of any actual facts other than the ones you cite. 'Kelly Pavlik retired in July 2012, then GGG had his first fight in the US two months later unequivocally means that GGG hid out in Europe and ducked the beast. Good grief, but carry on as you like. I wasn't kidding when I stated that GGG sh.its bigger than Kelly Pavlik. He literally once took a sh.it bigger than Kelly Pavlik.

Oscar got a very dubious decision against average German middleweight, Felix Sturm.

Hmm, I always wondered what a 'TKO' was. Thought it was typo.
