If a fighter REFUSES to fight someone that called him out unless "the money's right" - is that a DUCK? Yes/No?

I’m busting his balls but only because he keeps with his stance that Bud is ducking Boots
So I will keep asking for answers

Why are we pretending it's cut and dry?
Should Canelo fight guys for peanuts just because they call him out, whether or not they've accomplished anything? Want him fighting Berlanga, or Charlo, or Andrade?
Bud earned double undisputed despite being locked out on "the wrong side of the street" for a lot of his prime. If he wants to finish his career with some money fights, I think that's amply earned.
If Boots wanted to fight him, he's had MANY opportunities that he ducked. Took the IBF route, which Spence only defended once in 4 years, while Bud was defending his WBO regularly. WBO generally calls their mandatories also. Then didn't call for his mandatory shot for months while Spence was free, and waited until the fight with Bud was made. Then didn't call out Bud until the rematch clause was activated so he could get his title by email. If he actually wanted smoke, he could be fighting top contenders. Why's he not fighting Stanionis, Crowley, Ortiz Jr, or even Rocha, Barrios? Who's he fighting at all? He's the 147 version of Tank Davis.
Shakur ducking Devin Haney's offer to fight for undisputed over money was a flat duck. He'd have been in the driver's seat with money for every fight after that. Instead he fought for a vacant belt against a guy who wasn't even top 10 Ring last year, stunk up the place, and now is reduced to begging for fights and fake retiring. TBF, that could have also been arrant ******ity.
Tank Davis not fighting anyone in the top is a duck, regardless of money excuses.
Canelo not fighting Benavidez is a duck if it doesn't happen this year.
Estrada turning down Ioka over money is a duck in my book. Not fighting anyone at all now, and has only ever fought ONE unification in all of his title reigns, and that was Chocolatito 2, which was his highest payday.
Chocolatito turning down Inoue over money sure feels like a duck to me, and we got robbed of what would have been an epic battle.
Point is that there's always relevant circumstances. The money is just the excuse. It's the whole situation that defines whether it's a duck.

Have Boots and Bozy contacted BLK Prime yet?
If Ennis' team can't even contact BLK, which made Avanesyan vs Crawford possible, then these ducking allegations hold no water. Bud got bored of waiting for the Spence fight at that time and took the Avanesyan fight. It could happen again here if you think about it. So why not reach out to BLK and see if they can do something about this fight? Who knows Bud might take it. But I'm sensing it's not the fight these anti-Bud wants, it's the blame games. They're enjoying it.Last edited by brettWall; 02-05-2024, 01:38 AM.El_Mero likes this.
