If a fighter REFUSES to fight someone that called him out unless "the money's right" - is that a DUCK? Yes/No?

Floyd offered Manny his biggest purse ever, he refused was that a duck?
Floyd also wanted rough,y 160 million getting all the PPV money and leaving Pacman 30 million ,that’s a duck in itself and that was the last negotiation tactic when the two themselves spoke when the fight fell through .

“In possibly the biggest tease of the negotiations between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Bob Arum announced that the drug testing issue had been resolved and that the Floyd's signature was the only thing in the way of the super fight the world was anticipating. Top Rank promotions added to the hype by posting a "'Money'" Time: Mayweather's Decision" countdown clock on their website to emphasize the 14-day deadline set by Arum.”

This above is another Mayweather obstacle that happened before the ridiculous split Mayweather wanted so who really ducked in this one ? Lol

Again whoever is available and rejects highest paydays is a ducker , you haven’t giving legit examples bc Pacman never ducked him ,he rejected the initial offer bc of a blood Olympic style testing which was resolved in fact it shows Floyd at the end not going the extra mile to make the fight so ? That statement right there would prove that ,initially had Manny excepted the terms the fight MAYBE goes through but it seems likely Floyd throws more hurdles ,idk ?

Obviously if one’s available but gets ridiculous offers it’s not a duck if they can’t come to terms hoe er both these guys were big draws , the stipulations Floyd made would and did make this fight difficult to make but in the end let Arums deadline run out .

Not everything is smooth sailing in this sport and nothing is clear cut. It also has to do with the degree of need each fighter has with each other. It's similar to asking a guy who is already retired to fight you for an exhibition or something. You don't expect him to set up the fight and work his ass off calling every promoter and broadcaster for the arrangement of the fight. He doesn't need you, you need him, so you're the one obligated to do those things. You entice him and make him a fair offer with the aid of the promoter you contacted.

no... because if a lower level fighter who hasnt earned the chance is calling out a big name and the big name refuses, that's not a duck.

Its a dumb thing to say, because ANY fight can get made if enough money is involved.

But there is no yes/no answer. Every situation is different. Sometimes, the fighter uses money as an excuse to not take the fight. Other times, the money is so low that the guy would be a complete fool to take it, or there are other unacceptable terms attached, such as weight, options, rematch, etc.

So it just depends on the individual situation. One size does NOT fit all.............

none can even agree years later on whether AJ ducked wilder or wilder ducked AJ, depends on who u like in the end, there is always some confusion put in there often by the ducker and his guys

clear duckers now are canelo, and tank has always had that label, but these guys have the fans & the cash so they dont care seems to me, having said that i think canelo is starting to feel that benny heat, its getting hot in that luxury kitchen of his

True. This "unless money is right" thing doesn't even apply to someone like Canelo.

Most times when fans call a duck it’s cause their favourite fighter is involved and it doesn’t fit their own thoughts and narratives
In all reality, we as fans can only guess and insinuate things that went on during negotiations
The end result is a fan calling it a duck based on what HE thinks happened which can be truthful or not and that’s where the truth lies
We don’t have the minimal details which snowballs into different angles and clauses of a contract
A happy family can be a very ***********al family behind that closed door
                Just sayin’

TS is already assuming Crawford would price himself out of the Ennis fight. But then he's also assuming Jaron would take whatever money he's offered hook, line and sinker, and won't ever say, "if money is right" doe.

And he's probably referring to this brief tweets about Bud getting bored...

The TS should answer the questions I’ve asked him for the longest time or since he’s been calling Crawford a duck from Boots
Boots had his opportunities to fight Bud twice and then force a mando but didn’t and decided to go another way
Tweeting send the papers like Boots has done , don’t mean chit ina lol reality

Gee you got invested lol, I should have added it wasn't a duck because by holding out Manny got more money, it was just used in the context of this thread, its been done to death a million times . And you believe Arum lol.
