It might even smarter to say he's the most fought fighter in the division based on such rate. Stanionis only got 15 fights on his record. Vergil Ortiz is going after his 21st fight. Those looks to me more like the ones being avoided.
The number of fights a guy has is not related to whether or not he is "avoided". Any matchmaker in the world can move a guy to 30-0 with careful matchmaking. I could get your Aunt Helen to 30-0 if you wanted to spend the money. Ennis has been VERY carefully developed, with his Pops putting the kibosh on any meaningful opponents.......

I don't know what Ennis is in the ring, weight-wise but he looks bigger than Crawford, about the size of the former welter Ortiz. I still think Ennis and Ortiz will meet someday in the future, probably as middleweights.
Crawford was to 135 what Ennis is to 147, at least that how it appears to me.

At some point any fighter worth his salt would have to look for fights ACTIVELY to squash the inactivity routine. Who you approach and who you don't defines what kind of fights you are looking for. You can't just sit around hoping fights would just be handed to you without doing nothing. You still have to negotiate. He's able to secure 32 fights, I don't see any problem doing the same for his next fights.
Even guys like Crawford who started at 135, went up to 140, then 147 had to look for fights. Benavidez Jr stepped up for Bud's 2nd run at welter, Amir Khan stepped up, Kavaliauskas, Kell Brook even at his late stage of his career. Where was Ennis, a career welterweight, all that time? He was undefeated with 26 fights, yet he was still looking for victims.

It's a huge investment of time and money. Stanionis, for example, in his 16th fight is already pitted against Vergil Ortiz Jr, which is his 20th fight. He's even pitted with Ennis already...And there are many others. Why the discrepancy?Last edited by OnePunch; 01-23-2024, 08:20 PM.

HARD QUACK
I feel dumber just from having read this.
Crawford didnt duck Boots, or anyone else. Boots was offered the Crawford fight TWICE, and both times his pops said "nahhhh, we good"
And as for losing the belt, he is obligated by contract to the Spence rematch. Its not up to him genius.

I repeat. No one is ducking him. Take a look at the thread above. Name the fighters who have avoided/are avoiding him. Name them. Every time someone mentions fighters who are interested in his son, Bozy immediately shoots them down. That's the problem. You mention Kava to him and he says, nah, it would do nothing for his son, etc.
Bozy is a fughin clown buying into his own hype
Mean machine would be a good fight for Boots just to see where he’s at
Boots would win the fight but we’d have a much better idea exactly who Boots is
