And as mentioned, Kavaliauskas was Crawford's 4th fight in the welterweight division. That was in December 2019 on wiki. Two months before that in October 2019, Ennis fought a guy named Demian Daniel Fernandez. It's his 24th fight as a career welterweight.

As you can see there was never any intention for them to fight the likes of Kavaliauskas.

Vergil Ortiz fought Mean Machine in his 18th fight, he then went on to fight Avanesyan who backed out of the fight. Stanionis was another name he went out of his way to fight, but it was plague with cancelations, unfortunately, due to health reasons and weight problems.

See the difference between the intention of both Ortiz and Ennis camp? It's night and day.
I am just saying this as a fan of Vergil, but I hope he is going to be healthy at 154 as there are plenty of options available in the division. He looked sharp and strong in his bout with Lawson despite only lasting 150 seconds.

It's highly unlikely it happen any time soon but Ortiz vs Tszyu would be barn burner.

As for Ennis, he now has the IBF belt since November, maybe now he can pursue fighters like Stanionis and Thurman now that he has an incentive, just hope his father doesn't mess it up thinking it is a waste of time.

Odd mindset considering that Ennis's career is supposed to entertain by fighting other top opponents.

Fair points. I've got nothing more to add.

Why is that? Simply because Kavaliauskas will never say no to any fight. I could consider him a 2nd tier fighter, 3rd tier fighter if you want. Which means these guys are not making much and would take any fight at a moment's notice. They have to feed their families and put food on their tables. They'll even fight Kingkong if they need to, which is an exaggeration of course, but you get the point. That's why this Boots being avoided is nonsense.

It should be clear that he has avoided these types of fights in his entire career. He could have taken this fight even before Crawford did as Bud began at a lower weight.

Unless you're his manager how exactly do you know this? Do you have the offer sheet from Kavaliauskas team to Ennis? I see people like you making blanket statements about fighters managers, or promoters without any personal connection to them.

You can't just make up narratives and pretend they're facts.

You are absolutely right. It's mere speculation on my part.

So what's your take on the subject of this thread? I shared my opinion. I'm interested in yours. It's a forum where people all over the world chime in and lay out whatever it is in their minds. That's how forum works. We wouldn't be here if we keep suppressing our thoughts. I understand we have biases. But at least we have freedom to express ourselves.

Thurman is called out by everybody, if you want that name. He also rejects everybody.

Unfortunately no one gives a fook about a fighting legacy or being in the HOF.
It’s all about making more money in your next fight OR fighting a subpar fighter to stay tuned up.
Notice you don’t see Ennis calling out UNDEFEATED fighters in his weight class? No money in that with great risk.
Boxers are business men now now fighters.

My take is I have no idea. I will wait and see what happens this year. I know Ennis was the mandatory and was waiting for a his shot at Crawford. That didn't happen. He was just recently given the belt after they stripped Crawford. That's not a lot of time to understand who he should or can fight.

Yep. They're no longer expected to fight more than they think is necessary. Less fights, less risks. Fans of today are just okay with it.

Crawford, Spence, & Thurman could fight Boots tomorrow if they wanted to.

Boots had his chance to fight Crawford before he fought Spence & him & his father turned it down .

Now, Crawford doesn't see Boots as high-reward enough to take the fight, so he's technically ducking him.

                    Spence has never wanted Boots.

How many fighters are now calling out or have expressed interest in fighting Jaron "Boots" Ennis so far? Is the being avoided narrative a total hoax for Ennis?

GGG got crucified for keeping himself busy and was made accountable for every fight he made starting from the his very first pro fight. At least the being avoided part was genuine, whether you agree or not.
