I thought it was declined in 2022, but yeah Jaron's father had stated that the fight doesn't really help Boot's career apparently (there was a clip in Youtube even). Mean Machine was going to fight Butaev but it fizzled. At least he got two consecutive wins over Mykal Fox and unknown José Marrufo.

Honestly it be a pretty entertaining fight though. Would be nice if it happened.

Is Jaron "Boots" Ennis a DUCK?

Not hard to figure what is close to the truth. There's accusation or su****ion that Ennis ducked Kavaliauskas. But there's no accusation or su****ion about Kavaliauskas ducking Ennis.

Why is that? Simply because Kavaliauskas will never say no to any fight. I could consider him a 2nd tier fighter, 3rd tier fighter if you want. Which means these guys are not making much and would take any fight at a moment's notice. They have to feed their families and put food on their tables. They'll even fight Kingkong if they need to, which is an exaggeration of course, but you get the point. That's why this Boots being avoided is nonsense.

It should be clear that he has avoided these types of fights in his entire career. He could have taken this fight even before Crawford did as Bud began at a lower weight.

That's a good point that hadn't crossed my mind. Crawford started at 135 as opposed to Ennis being a career welterweight.

They say they do but they don't. And I'm not picking sides here.

Boot's team will not put Ennis in this early with Bud because they know that Bud has the potential to ruin Boots's career before it even takes off, just like what happened to Spence.

Boots just got the IBF championship, and as champion he'll be able to leverage and command more bread fighting no hopers and journeymen.

The Ennis camp will want to make some easy bread off the IBF title before taking on a major threat is all I'm saying.

That made it official then. They rejected the Kavaliauskas fight. It just proved Showtime's Espinoza was lying to his teeth.

And as mentioned, Kavaliauskas was Crawford's 4th fight in the welterweight division. That was in December 2019 on wiki. Two months before that in October 2019, Ennis fought a guy named Demian Daniel Fernandez. It's his 24th fight as a career welterweight.

As you can see there was never any intention for them to fight the likes of Kavaliauskas.

Vergil Ortiz fought Mean Machine in his 18th fight, he then went on to fight Avanesyan who backed out of the fight. Stanionis was another name he went out of his way to fight, but it was plague with cancelations, unfortunately, due to health reasons and weight problems.

See the difference between the intention of both Ortiz and Ennis camp? It's night and day.

With all this vaunted talent and skills he should be fighting four times a year. It's looking like he and his team are afraid to get derailed. But that doesn't make sense if he's really that great. For sure Barrios is tailor-made for him. So is Crowley, maybe even Stanionis, Benn, Kavaliuskas, Cobbs, etc. Question is what are they afraid of? Why in heaven are they rejecting most of these fights?

Lol. Ennis will beat all those guys without fighting them, according to his fans. They're pointless. So why not just sit around and wait for the Saudi oil money?

You can include Benn, Cobbs, Ellis, Stanionis?... who else? There's not one of them that Bozy Ennis didn't denigrate. He was asked about Ellis and immediately scowled saying he's not even top 12, hasn't fought anybody, etc. His tone wasn't any different when he's asked about Benn, Cobbs, etc.

Saudi promoters would run out of names eventually as not everyone can fight 4x a year like Parker, and would be forced to scour every available inactive boxers.
I wouldn't even be surprised if Luis Ortiz would land a fight eventually in that area even at this late stage of his career. Their Day of Reckoning card was filled with mismatches with KO endings. Perhaps they would want Ortiz to help showcase one of their rising stars.

I suspect it's Warren who comes up with the pairings.

Thurman was offered better by Stanionis.
