So people have said guys like Thurman, Ortiz, Stanionis but the obvious answer is Terence Crawford.

With all that being said however, I'm going to tell you why Bud vs Boots will never happen.

Bud is at the stage of his career where he wants his name to be elevated, he wants the big time, brand building fights like a Canelo fight.

Boots on the other hand, brings nothing to the table, (I know he has the IBF belt but Crawford's been there and done that, not interested) and he has no fanbase right now and probably never will.

Boots may want to fight Crawford but his team not going to let him because that fight is too risky, they still need to make some paper before throwing him to the wolves.

Thurman has been highly inactive fighting once inside 5 years.

Shawn Porter retired relatively early. (nothing wrong with that.)

Ugas managed to get a belt and fight once a year after 2020.

Crowley just became a solid name in 2022-2023 (Having wins over Kudratillo Abdukakhorov, Joselito Lopez and Abel Ramos), however he said he was already contemplating retirement after he got a raw deal.

Then there is Eimantas Stanionis and Rhadzab Butaev, the former didn't get to fight in 2023 due to his fight with Vergil getting delayed too often and then canceled in the last minute. Butaev after his loss and becoming a free agent, has decided to move up to 154.

So who is there outside of Barrios, Ellis and Villa?
But he's going to have to find a dance partner eventually, right? 6 months since his last fight with no fight scheduled, he's going to have find someone to show his wares and be more marketable. We can't just say nobody wants to fight him when he's able to secure 32 fights, which is almost the same as what Stanionis and Ortiz have in their record combined.

If Boots' camp is really serious about the Crawford fight, all they can do is contact BLK and see if they can still revive their previous offer. Showtime is gone. Who else is there to make such fight?

I'd be interested to find out how they were able to make those fights before Ennis went for his 29th fight with Lipinets, his first step up fight.

Hopefully. Considering Jaron didn't fight to get the belt, it is pretty difficult to market him when he doesn't have much accolades to begin with.

Ennis's activity hasn't been a problem in 2023 at all, but honestly his wins over Chukhadzyan and Villa didn't really do much for him since they are not high profile. Commendable that he took his mandatory, but Villa is only known for turning around the tables against an inactive fighter (Ellis), who was winning majority of the rounds. Difficult to gauge how good of a challenger he was.

Kavaliauskas' last fight was on a PBC card. Why is that not a good name for a stay-busy fight for Ennis? Sometimes these fighters need a sense of comparison. To prove they can do it better. Look at Joshua. He's bragging about how he beat their common opponents better than Fury.

There's a Youtube clip for that, specifically about Ennis ducking Egidijus "Mean Machine" Kavaliauskas... I don't see that fight getting made, ever.

Is Jaron "Boots" Ennis a DUCK?

this guy might be good and migth want to fight guys but hes not really doing anything to stay relevant. when people were ducking ggg he simply fought the next best guy and thats how he ended up with 12 top 10 wins. from my knowledge ennis has 1 and is barely active so hes not putting much pressure on the top guys to fight him
