"People have to sit back and think, like, damn you can’t be the whole face of boxing if you just fighting guys in your weight division and y’all motherf------ cryin’ about people going two pounds, three pounds over when I’m up here fighting motherf------ 50, 60 pounds heavier than me."

Actually, you haven't been fighting anyone this whole year, Deontay.

Name another HW who has EVER done this. Go ahead, name one. Tank would have to KO 40 fighters from welter to middle to equal what Wilder has done. Numbers don't lie.
What fighters haven’t got up ? Stiverne , Szpilka Helenius ?

If we ranked the mentioned guys it would look atrocious in fact most his opponents got up at least on there way up and aware before any stoppages . You guys just don’t watch full fights . His knock out record is impressive but against who ? If he can stop Parker it would be his best stoppage and maybe connecting the dots can be on someone’s agenda and make up for total lack of quality but until then ? He can stop 100 guys if they aren’t notable wins it doesn’t really matter .

I read the article before the comments, which I normally do. Was pleased to see a good amount of positive comments.
He is rich, and he's popular, but he makes a great point.

It really does hinge, right now, on what he does against Parker, who remains Joshua's biggest claim to fame (not geriatric Klitschko).
Joshua, Whyte could only eek out a nod over Parker, Ruiz less; and Joyce used himself up against him. Waiting to see how Wilder does.

Sure it's just me, but I rank him currently as the 7th best heavyweight of the past 40 years, decidedly below Holmes, Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko, Holyfield and Fury, but above Bowe, Moorer, Tua, Ibeabuchi, Vitali, (Old Ver) Foreman, Joshua, and tens of thousands of others who skedaddled right past the low pay combat sports and went for the rules that historically matter to seek their fortune.

And given that heavyweights are the alpha males, as Wilder points out correctly; that's a pretty big deal.
        Let's wait and see.

If he beats Parker (and I admit, that it's an IF right now), his calculated quality of opposition will have surpassed that of the other championship level heavyweight stars of this era. The most modern era.

The claim (and I'll remind the casual people again) that Joshua beat much better fighters than Wilder and Fury remains just that. A myth.

In the event that Wilder smokes Parker and Joshua struggles at all with Wallin; Wilder's resume and accomplaccompls will have left A.J.'s in the dust.

But of course, that's still an IF.

he makes a good point about weight, does piss me off when fans and fighters make out its mission impossible cause they are fighting someone who is a tiny bit heavier then them yet when it comes to heavyweights suddenly weight doesnt matter, are way too many weight classes any way
