Erm, no. He didn’t beat Ruiz, doesn’t have a win over Ruiz. That is a fact. You can make up an imaginary win if you want to but it doesn’t exist in reality.

I’m not a fan of AJ in any way so that won’t wash here.

I’m into reality based stuff, such as the fact that Toney has never beaten a remotely good heavyweight. His only ranked win is Holyfield’s corpse.

You can pretend he has any kind of chance against AJ (or any other top, elite HW for that matter) but it doesn’t stop it from being anything but delusion and based off no kind of reality of what actually transpired in Toney’s career.

I doubt Toney even wins a round from AJ, let alone the fight. The chances of him actually beating AJ is entirely nil.

There is no one in the Top 10 right now that Toney has a chance of beating.

A few tough assignments comming up on the 23rd card, but hopefully the right people win to get us to what you're envisioning.

After that, let's see who has the balls to fight Zhilei Zhang in China in front of a billion viewers.

And see if Ngannou is for real, or just a mirage laid down by crafty Tyson Fury.

Let's see if Anderson, Hrgovic, Bakole, Makhmudov, Sanchez, Wardley, Yoka, Moore, Barriere, Jalolov, Pero, Clarke and Ljungquist have what it takes to start occupying the top slots to usher in the next era of heavyweights as we begin to move towards mid century.
Sound like a fan friendly plan to me!

If not for Charles Martin, AJ would be the worst Heavyweight champ in history. Everybody knows that the talent pool at heavyweight is the weakest it's ever been. If a short fat man like Andy Ruiz can starch him, so could James Toney.

The WBC and Mauricio Sulaiman should make Wilder/Parker a final elimination bout for its heavyweight title because Matchroom, Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua won't so much as come near a hundred yards of fighting Deontay Wilder.

You keep comparing Andy Ruiz who is a top, quality proven Heavyweight to James Toney who is none of those things.

Not really. There’s a long list of HW champions worse than AJ.

I've got to ask...Have you ever been to a professional boxing match?

This is one of the stronger heavyweight eras in the 304 year history of the modern title.
Not the very best, but an excellent one.
The ranked heavyweights are in aggregate, are taller, heavier, stronger and more athletic relative to their size than any in the past.

Few, if any of the contenders during the Klitschko era would find a place in today's top 10.

James Toney is the most overrated fighter of recent vintage. Remind me to tell you what I know first hand about that some time.

Andy Ruiz has one decent win in a weak era.

Dude, nobody is talking about the Klitschko era. Did you just start watching boxing in 2000s? As we all know, less big men are going into boxing these days, opting to go into sports that don't involve getting hit in the face.. The talent pool is shallower than it has ever been. Boxing is a fringe sport. The talent pool reflects it.

Ok and Toney has zero and a list of loss’s.

Andy Ruiz beat AJ and Ortiz which are worlds better than anyone Toney ever beat at Heavyweight.

You can’t possibly be telling me that you consider Toney a better Heavyweight than Andy Ruiz? And especially not Joshua?

This era is even weaker than Klitschko's. The fact that Andy Ruiz even held a title is a disgrace. John Ruiz beats him and Joshua on the same night. And of course, Toney beat John Ruiz with scores of 116–111, 116-111 and 115–112 (knocking him down in the 7th).
