Usyk won't be considered the best of the era but somewhere in the Top 20.
Daniel Dubois beat him, as we all know but some deny because of the actions of the crooked ref.
Derek Chisora only needed to officially win 1 more round for it to be a Draw.
Maris Briedis lost majority decision, but many thought Briedis won.
Anthony Joshua II split decision, some thought AJ won or a Draw.

He has already been stopped by AJ and DDD with body shots. I'm not sure how it works making him the best of the era.

More like in Bodybagged but that sounds too harsh. Dubois got him.

Honestly, when this era is discussed decades from now, the main thing people will remember will probably be that a 37 year old MMA fighter was arguably robbed of becoming the lineal champion in his first boxing match vs an opponent who most people considered the best HW of the era. Nothing else will really matter because of that RE: Usyk, Joshua etc. The whole era is basically tarnished and will go down in the history books as a bit of a joke.

We need Wilder-AJ, Fury-AJ, and Wilder-Usyk for the era to be complete and it needs to happen like yesterday or the argument that it happened too late would be there. There are some contenders knocking at the door but I do not think they beat even the majority of these 4.

Assuming Fury-Usyk happens which is now likely to take place, if the winner beats AJ or Wilder depending on who wins would be the best of this era.

They need to happen. But they're all getting too old to make all the fights that the era needs.

Usyk is approaching 37. He's active but realistically doesn't have many fights left in him. He really needs Fury.

Wilder is 38. And inactive. I reckon we get one more fight out of him but he's basically done. Out of all of them - he's the one who left everything too late. Title defences go towards his legacy but his resume really isn't anything of note. I can see him fighting Joshua but I think that's his farewell.

Joshua and Fury just turned 34 and 35 respectively. They've got a bit of time on their side. They can decide the era if they make the fights.

If he beats Fury, than probably yes.
