Evander Holyfield barley got by a old ass Holmes, and beat a 43 year old Foreman. he must have been greater than them. If he was around in their primes they never would have been champs. .

One of those fights could have gone either way. Fact is almost all of press row scored it for a 43 year old man.

So I guess the aging Calzaghe was prime in that fight then huh? It was 2 older guys and the better guy won and he did it in this country without any question of hometown judges.

In the joto- Floyd fight some of the press said joto won but the fact is he didn't.

It's all good. He was a very active guy for a part time fighter even though I agree that it doesn't mean a lot.

That was a showcase fight for Roy @ home and he went with the 'Rocky' theme giving a no-name, no-hoper a shot at the very best. It as a good story and I don't regret it no matter what any hater says. Roy fought and beat Toney and Hopkins while Joe was a fresh face just turning pro.

Joe did nothing special but win a single world title and defend it against a lot of guys who had little chance to beat him in his back yard, which coincidently is the only place he would ever fight. I understand being a fan, but to defend his prime career so fervently is nonsense.

How was Calzaghe not in his prime? Everyone said he was at his best from Lacy-Kessler, and then when Hopkins makes him look bad he is suddenly past prime, only to look great in his next fight? Calzaghe peaked in his 30s and was 36. At that age Hopkins beat Tito down and was considered prime.

When did Calzaghe's prime end? Nobody would say it ended when he took apart Kessler...

Maybe Bernard just made him look old?

Like who barely anyone had that for Oscar, whereas almost all in press row had it for Hopkins.

It is a convinent excuse. Much of the buildup was based upon the past it but still capable Hopkins attempting to undo another young prime challenger.
