Do you believe Deontay Wilder made $20 million in the Helenius fight?

Canelo made $5 million, while Cotto brought home $15 million. Are these lies? No one knows. But compare it with Deontay allegely making $20 million in the Helenius fight.
Aren't "official fight purposes" dubious and to do with how much gets declared with the local commission?

Don't know. Which is why I'm emphasizing the SIZE of the fight in relation to past fights. That's the only way anything can be estimated in this business.

Again, Mayweather stated he "wants to get boxing back in check and squash what he believes is a growing trend of fighters demanding more money than a fight is worth."

What is any fight worth? Why get $20 million in a fight the size of which is not any bigger than a certain past fight? Shouldn't this be the key to any of these figures? What is a fight worth? What is the size?

If you can answer which fight is bigger, Canelo vs Cotto or Helenius vs Wilder, then we're on to something.

Wilder got a new contract when his team rejected the DAZN/AJ deal.

I doubt it was that big, and obviously not as big as he wouldve got from DAZN - but it was reported to be pretty huge.

What contract? Showtime Espinoza stopped covering Wilder's fights and passed them on to Fox Sports.

Showtime's Espinoza: Wilder-Ortiz PPV 'Deal Didn’t Make Sense For Us'

Meaning, Wilder's team had to accept whatever contract Fox came up with. Finkel and Wilder had no choice.
but to accept. Showtime has left them. Where will they go? ESPN? DAZN?

It's pretty widely reported that Wilders new contract following DAZNs $20m offer to fight Breazele (followed by two $40m v AJ), had increased his purses from $2m to $12m+.

He said he agreed to the substantially bigger but less than DAZN offer because he thought following the Fury 2 fight he would be worth more than $40m.

Didn't work out and he lost a ton of money, but he still got paid pretty well.

Seeing this thread made me realize that Helenius has had a pretty good career financially. Just the two Kownacki fights, Wilder, and AJ fights must have increased his bank account by a good seven figures.

Helenius made significantly less than what big ticket fighters make. According to this site:

"When he won the IBF Inter-Continental heavyweight title against Erkan Teper in 2018, Helenius reportedly took home $20,000, via Sportekz. Against Gerald Washington, Helenius earned $30,000. When he beat Adam Kownacki in 2020, Helenius took home $30,000. Helenius earned about $75,000 in the rematch.

The most he made in a fight before that was $50,000 in 2017 against Dillian Whyte."

I think he signed a new contract with PBC with a minimum floor after the first Fury fight. I know the talk of he and Fury made 20 million or more for the rematch and he probably made 20 million for the third fight, but if PBC gave that guarantee for a mismatch then they are fools because as previous posters stated Wilder wasn't earning jack sh*& before he was willing to fight live opponents.
