Working class people always look at other working class folks to take a paycut and not the ones with infinitely more capital that cuts the checks. Capitalism is wild.
Crazy isn't it ? Working class people brainwashed to believe that it's poor people holding them back.

Of all the ****** places to put a fight. I've been to Rosenberg for a dog show. It's in the sticks. There's really nothing there. Houston is about forty miles north , they could have put the fight in a few places there. Lake Charles Louisiana is 2 hours away with three huge casinos.. They never have fights, I don't know why. Everyone in Houston is in Lake Charles every weekend anyway.

Lol at Crawford pitching in in the midst of Showtime exiting boxing.
Bobfather lost a lot of money on this fella. His Khan fight was a huge disaster.
Never budged for a paycut in the midst of covid. He's getting $1.2 mil for fighting bums
        his entire career.

If boxing can't build stars it's doomed. People ( not real boxing fans) won't watch fights and boxing won't win new fans if they have no clue who the fighters are. They're not going to tune in to watch Anonymous versus Anonymous. They have to know who the guys are and a little something about them , their story. That's the promoters job. There are a zillion media outlets out there , all looking for content. **** , even Great White Sharks have better promoters than Boxing does. People care about them because they see them on TV , in the papers , magazines , websites , etc.
Just one example . When Crawfords little girl lost her shoe but still won the race. They should have been on Good Morning America the next day , on Oprah , the Evening News , and a full spread in People Magazine. Boxing and Boxers are a PRODUCT . Sell that ****.

The problem in America is that every time there is a merger the parent company borrows everything against the company they purchase and then sells off, closes or spins off anything that doesn't directly produce super HIGH profit. Frankly, there is a much, much, much bigger more diabolical game afoot and it's not just happening in boxing
It's all about Quarterly Profits instead of any long term investment . Got to keep those Quarterly bonuses rolling in.

It's true. Those figures were not even kept secret. They're out in the open and published casually. Spence, for example, made $300K, and Algieri made $500K in their fight, which was pegged as Earl's first step up fight. Spence again made $300K in the Bundu fight. He made his first $1 mil only when he fought Brook in the UK. And it's not even $1 mil, it's $900K.

Danny Garcia made $700K in the Rod Salka fight, as another example. Leo Santa Cruz made $725K for fighting a sparring partner. Such figures were huge at that time. And those were all published and out in the open.

Crawford is probably the first fighter who made $1+ mil for each and every cab driver he fought long before everyone else had their first taste of $1 million.

is a minority sport already and i barely follow it myself anymore ... look at the UFC event tomorrow, youve got two of the best p4p fighters fighting and volkanovski stepped in with 12 days notice and cut 26lbs or something crazy to make weight, imagine if that happened in boxing, the step in opponent would be some ****ing bum not arguably the p4p number 1 of the sport

I don’t care for PBC anymore than I care for Top Rank but there are tons of meaningless garbage fights Arum made specifically to keep money IN HOUSE.
Arum was also behind the Floyd-Cotto fight not happening in 2005.
Lastly, Oscar, Floyd, Cotto, Bud, Mikey Garcia etc ALL left Top Rank unhappy with the deals they were getting. In fact, Manny tried to leave for Golden Boy but stayed put after being threatened with a lawsuit.

The difference between Top Rank and PBC is that PBC pays way more than Top Rank.
How’s that for “googling” historical facts?
You’ve stated why fighters have left Top Rank. We all know the facts. So now when it’s stated that SHO is dropped boxing, are you saying that the PBC didn’t have anything to do with that? Foh. They’ve overpaid their fighters and SHO was sick of not seeing big fights. ESPN has made the bigger more anticipated fights. SHO without Floyd has been trash and you know it. It took Spence years to finally come around to make a super ****en fight. Tank hasn’t fought anyone and I really can’t name anyone else outside of Wilder who has fought in a big PPC fight. People got tired of the PBC WW fights facade. SHO didn’t get the investment back that they made with the PBC and Haymon. The writing was on the wall.

So what’s your point? Boxers make more money than MMA fighters and their events are bigger than any MMA event.

I NEVER said PBC had nothing to do with the demise of Showtime.
Let’s go further than your point, Showtime produces plenty of shows that cost serious money. They are investing the money they make. Same thing as Netflix, HBO and all the others.
Showtime just don’t want to pay boxers money they deserve. It’s the same “greed” boxers have.
